His mistake wasn’t anything to do with a highline, in fairness. It is a weakness of his but wasn’t one that was really exposed yesterday.

I clearly said it has nothing to do with yesterday

I've no idea, wump, I've not watched him that closely.
It's the one thing I used to say about Valdés and Casillas though. They both had their faults, but their speed off the line and ability 1-on-1 was ideal for our style of play.
Casillas won us the World Cup just as much as any outfield player did.

Totally agree with you. I can see it cost Spain in the tournament at some point. I have absolutely no confidence in him to bail the team out when the line is so high and I am sure the defenders feel it too
Frankly, it's the reason why it isn't a contest on who is a better keeper between him and Neuer. Not much between them when it comes to shot stopping but Neuer's sweeping and kicking is simply incredible and in the modern game it is a massive massive attribute for your keeper to have.
True but I didn’t see much of a problem with regard to De Gea’s ability coming off the line effecting the team. It is a problem since he’s been here, though. It doesn’t look like it’s something we’ve looked to coach him on since he came to England. He isn’t the fastest but decision making is the issue and given we don’t play a high line that often it’s not something he regularly has to deal with either.

Mourinho plays to his keeper's strengths
Reading Dave’s comments last night and he kept highlighting the Spanish media not appreciating him much, probably why he’s more happy to stay in England through his prime years.
Really? I don't know that he's not appreciated here. What did he say?
David de Gea: “I have not killed anyone, it’s a mistake, you have to give normality to it. I have the support of the whole team.”
David de Gea: “I think the Spanish sports critic are harder on me. I don't see any good talk about me. I think there are a lot of people who didn't defend me when they could have defended me.”
Interview with Onda Cero
In England he seems to be more praised by pundits and the managers.
If he didn’t keep on making daft mistakes for the national team he would probably be defended more though, some of the errors have been comical.
Spanish press a caaaants, to be fair.

As much as I didn't like Delboy's coaching that is something you'd never see coming from a Spanish player when he was the manager. Just get on with it ffs! No need to get into it with the media when the world cup is still going on.

de gea needs to grow a pair
He definitely does. He isn't 18 anymore. I was actually pis&ed when he was talking about the president apologising to him the other day. I wondered why he felt he needed to introduce such controversy at that moment just before the world cup. Obviously that was overshadowed by something else
United fans pamper their players too much, turn them into weaklings. Tough love is what these manchilds need.
Agreed, Mourinho and Van Gaal were soft touches.
the fact de gea felt the need to biaatch about the press not giving him a hug is v worrying
he should shut up , play better and not makes mistakes...then the spanish press will give him the hugs
