There were a couple of posters frustrated. moaning and calling names due to their unsporting behaviour, play acting, cynical fouling etc.... hence the term used “casual racism”

Digby by far the worst. Others joining in now and then, but without him it would more or less have been tolerable.

Yeah I got banned for doing three puns way before any group game started, a bit ridiculous.

He is a big Trump fan so I’m not surprised about it

Sougate is going to need to make subs a bit earlier if we are going to start games with that intensity. You could tell they were tired but the fresh legs gave us a new impetus. Glad to get the win. First time we’ve won our opening game at the world cup since 2006.

I think that formation only really works the first half of games to an extent. Second half we probably need to get rid of someone (Lingard probs) to get a midfielder in to dictate tempo more.

With regards to the performance it was a very good first half. Then second half we struggled until RLC came on to help the midfield and Rashford came on to help in almost an auxiliary winger role.

Problem is we don’t have the midfield to really do that. Despite the players tiring I do think it was a conscious decision to play at a slower pace to conserve energy for the rest of the tournament. Sadly we don’t have the quality of player to play at that pace and still be dangerous.
