Winston is excellent at going on the wind up. I should have engaged my brain yesterday to realise this.

As with every football club in the prem.
Overly simplistic soundbite which is intended to offend and cause debate which is the whole point of being a guest on Talksh1te
From my point of view although I'm a Londoner my local teams were Charlton and Millwall but as I'm a Gooner does that make me a glory hunter even though arsenal are from the same city? Also I strated following (and attending) in the early 80s when Spurs were sexier and probably superior so surely I'd have supported them rather than boring boring Arsenal?
Also just a quick point didn't somone on here mention that Spurs were the first to win the double? Wasn't that Aston Villa in the 1900s?

You didn't.
You were too busy crying over me calling someone else brainless.
Bizarre.

Well, yes, but that's his schtick, to be fair.
He's actually regarded by mainstream journalists as relatively articulate (by the standards of footballers), and he does know how to get a reaction.
He's better at it than McNulty, who never seems very convinced by his own stuff, and gives the impression he doesn't even believe it himself.
Whereas everybody can buy into Joey being a gobsheite. He's not going to be short of work...I think he has a lot more Twattter followers than his footballing career might normally attract.(I'm not one of them, though)
In this case, I've quite enjoyed the stories he prompted about how people came to support their clubs.

A few Chelsea fans may have switched their allegiance following their 3-2 loss. Potentially the shirt burning sort of fan.
Burnley have the highest percentage of season ticket holders from in the near vicinity to their ground in the country.
Is that just because no-one ever leaves?
I know one chap from Burnley, lives near us. Maybe he's one of few. Must be a great place.

My Dad took me to an away match there as a kid, and I dreamt about it for years afterwards. Something about the place spooked me out. It was like it belonged on a different planet.
Years later, I met a girl from there in London. Man, she was fit.
I told her about my dream, but it turns out that describing somebody’s hometown as weird is not the best way to persuade someone to take their clothes off. We live and learn.
They drink Benedictine in the pubs.
Weird. And that exhausts my entire knowledge of Burnley.
One more thought; unless you walk around your home town wearing the wrong colours, who cares who you support? Most "Big Clubs" have fan bases worldwide, and unless you grew up supporting a lower league side, how are you even aware of those sides? Most people worldwide know about 10 English sides, 3 Spanish, 2 German, 1 French, 3 Italian, 1-2 Dutch, etc....so there's not too many shirts on the rack at the local sporting goods store, to begin your "Glory-Hunting Career" with!
I have a mate who's a Burnley fan. ..lived in the west Country for as long as me...still as norvern as they come
I've been to Oldham Blackburn and others...all about the same ain't they....?

It's official then, if you are a Burnley fan you are allright and can call Joey Barton a nobend.
I'm a bit torn on this one.
I always liked the fact that United had a huge following and were popular just about everywhere (it used to be seen as a good thing).
But at the same time I find it hard to imagine supporting a club to which you have no geographical or family ties.
