Pele's real goal tally is nearer to 650, which you'd expect both Messi and Ronaldo to pass.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Er no Pele's goal total is 1,000. You cannot just wipe out 350 goals to suit an argument.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That total includes friendlies and tour games
In competitive games, Pele got 619 for Santos, 31 for New York Cosmos
So thats 650.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You seem to have conveniently left out his 77 International goals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ronaldo has 78 and Messi has 58 and they're both probably a few years each of completely retiring, but it's kind of pointless comparing goal tallies in the context of when/where they all played. I just don't like that Pele has conned the world into thinking he scored twice as many goals as any other player because he includes the 10-20+ friendly matches he played each season.
I actually rate C Ronaldo higher than Messi because he has been outstanding in another league other than La Liga (PL), and had international honours (euros)

As I have said I rate Messi, but I don't particularly rate the Spanish league he has played his entire career in, same goes for Ronaldo. I think there are two or three decent teams, but the rest of the teams are more or less gimmes for Real and Barca. It is no coincidence that both are plundering goals at the same time in the same era.
-----------------------------------
The Spanish league has comfortably been the best league in Europe for close to 2 decades. It dominates both tiers of European competition. It's produced the players for the most successful national team in the last decade. It's produced the overwhelming majority of Ballon D'Or winners for ages: even before Messi and Ronaldo. What does it mean exactly to say you don't "rate" the Spanish league?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just because Real and Barca have dominated the Spanish league for 2 decades, don't mean the league is competitive. Celtic dominate the Scottish league, don't make the Scottish League good.

-------------------------------------------------
Yes. Because the SPL had an equivalent of Benitez' Valencia. Or Simeone's Atletico. And the SPL have had the likes of Atletico, Sevilla and Athletic Bilbao tearing it up in the Europa.
The Spanish league is inferior to the PL, the top clubs can win half their games at a relative canter, hence why they are always fresh for European nights and are dominating in Europe.
In the PL, almost all the games are tough and if a team is not 100% they will likely drop points.
Just because Real and Barca have dominated the Spanish league for 2 decades, don't mean the league is competitive. Celtic dominate the Scottish league, don't make the Scottish League good.
--------------------------------------------------
You were just the one talking up a Brazilian league that was totally dominated by Santos under Pele. Around the same period, Real Madrid were totally dominating Spanish and European football. You're kinda contradicting yourself.

Absolute poppycock promoted by Sky. This might actually be true heading into the next few years with the recent top 6 competition, but it certainly wasn't true all the time people have been claiming it all these years. Anytime in the last decade, I'd put good money on any La Liga team beating their equivalent ranked side in England, bar few exceptions.
Yes Messi and Ronaldo dominating their league for their careers should definitely negatively impact how they rank all time, if only they dropped more points and scored fewer goals
