Reading a 'this day in history' story about 1953. Wolves won the league that season finishing 4 points above Albion. And on this day in 1953 we set the tone for the season by beating Chelsea 8-1. Still the biggest defeat in Chelsea's history
I think that's worthy of a thread of its own DJ, on the Chelsea board as well, obviously !

i was at the 7-1 thrashing of them, also the 7-0 walloping of albion and the 8-1 annihalation of man city
great news for MGW and hope he stays fit
wasn't around for the 8-1 thrashing of Chelsea but can it have been any sweeter than when we beat the overpaid, over pampered bunch of low lives when we were last in the prem?
Richard Stearman has missed Sheff Utd's last seven games with a hamstring injury but may be fit and available for selection for the Wolves game on Wednesday. However after their win in the Steel City derby at the weekend he may not get back into the team.

I saw us beat Darlington 2-1.
Morgan Gibbs White played in the 1-0 win against Newcastle and was taken off after 33 mins. A precaution no doubt.

I was in the upstairs wooden seating in the Waterloo Road stand, having just completed a shift working the the Molineux Hotel bar. I remember Carr being set up for his goal. It was like, "after you, son". Great memories.

In the Chelsea game a velociraptor swooped down and gobbled up a ball boy.
I remember the Chelsea game as well. It was Willie Carr's debut. Quite a few other high scores over the years including a 6-0 at Hereford in the old second division and a 5-0 at Bristol Rovers in the same season.
I also remember three cup final wins, European nights at the Mol and wins against Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City in the Prem and several wins against Spurs.
This is what makes football for me and defines what being a fan is all about. I can hardly remember any of the L1 season a couple of years ago and little of the last two seasons in the Champo, but some of these "big" wins are as clear as day.
The Chant that day was "osgood no good, osgood no good " to the tune of ding dong ding dong

The game at Eastwood ended 5-1
I didn't go, instead going to the 6-1 defeat at home to Southampton.
Thankfully, the Ice Age put paid to football for the next 1500 years.

That happened three days ago. It was all over the news in the UK.
Or was it 6-2?
Or 6-3?
They've done us big a few times.

We all remember those days, but the manager is now persona non grata.
