Interesting week coming up, Cardiff v Leeds on Tuesday, us at Sheffield Utd on Wednesday.

I know it is early days but top 4 playing each other. We could end the week anywhere from 1st to 4th.

I am going for us being top by two points by 2200 on Wednesday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Couldn't we be as low as 8th if results go the wrong way?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think we can as Preston are fifth and four points behind us and can only get to 19 points if they win at Hull

As for me I am sitting at home in sunny Spain watching 2 games a week on my laptop for a tenner. My team are sitting 2nd in the table and averaging better than 2 points per game, I think we have the most technically gifted squad that we have had for many years and even the players who I had doubts about (Saiss, Batth, Viagre, Miranda and Enobakhare are all proving me wrong and playing better than before. In addition I think we may have, maybe the best head coach that we have had in my living memory, maybe he will prove not to be but for now he hasn't put a foot wrong so far in my opinion and I am loving the influence he is having on the team, the squad and the club as a whole. Another small point is that the club currently has the richest owners in it's history and the potential for this club to achieve things that two years ago none of us thought possible is very real.
What's not to like lads?
I'm loving every minute of this season and I'm feeling that this just might be the most important season in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers since they were top of the English leagues and a force in Europe.
Maybe I'm getting a little carried away and I said I would make a judgment after ten games. Well after nine I see a team that despite lack of experience in the Championship, have lost one game and can only get better as the season progresses.

Think I'll change my 'handle' to Ecstaticwolf.

How else would you describe someone that continually implies other posters are racist or have racist inclinations?

I think it is despicable.

You've lost me. I didn't put any words into Wolfie's mouth (if that is what you're alluding to). He stated himself what he thought, (and remember, he was a member of the police force - which makes those views more pertinent). I drew attention to it as I disagree with that attitude.

That was a genuine typo by the way. I didn't have any intention of turning the name Vinagre into a drug that can give me an erection. Although I have to say he is pretty exciting to watch

Sadly Bute I think our present head coach is way above the level of old bent nose. This league has moved on and teams are very much better now than they were in 2008/2009.

Not wanting to harp back to 09, but yesterday was reminiscent of the Derby match, I know it was later in the season, but we played badly against Derby but scored twice late on to win.

This season we seem to be able to recover from set backs and gain the not necessarily deserved points and wins. However when on song we seem unbeatable, the one thing missing so far is turning our superiority in some games into giving someone a real hiding.

Couldn't agree more gem, absolutely loving it and of course the football is the type of which I have wanted to see for a long time to much ridicule so it tastes all the sweeter.

The added bonus of being able to watch the games for pennies just puts the cherry on the cake.

We have a lot of players and not to mention a manager at the club who are used to winning, they have reacted brilliantly to any adversity thus far.

We are at a point now that before almost every game we are expecting Wolves to go out and hammer the opposition. As you say, it hasn't happened yet but I have no doubt that we will do it at least once before the end of the season.
Maybe on Wednesday? Now that would be a treat!
I think the game on Wednesday may be the toughest away game we have had this season and personally I would take a point right now.

posted on 24/9/17

I just don't see us looking like a team that are set up to hammer anyone. Maybe a one off but not very often. We don't have any consistent scorers, we don't commit many players forward and I don't think we have a manager that would keep pushing for more goals if we got a couple in front.

Wolves have sold out of their allocation for the game at Sheffield on Wednesday. Very rare for a team to sell out on a midweek away game. And of course the Burton away game has long since sold out

the attempt to bring in 2 strikers on deadline day ( locadia and albec) shows that in nunos judgment we are not the finished article yet. as long as we are, or can stay in touch with, the top 2 and get a good forward in in january we should be ok and up our scoring rate.

I think it's lilely we will buy one or two good quality players in Jan but hopefully they'll be icing on the cake rather than desperately needed. If Bona and Eno can continue to improve, with Jota, Costa and N'Diaye we may have enough goal threat. You can never have too many strikers tho 😉

Certainly the most comfortable in the ball squad i've seen at Wolves in years. But they still have 29 games to show they can be the most effective.

I think we possess a fair amount of goal threat gb but of all the forwards you name only Bonatini to me is suited to the centre forward role and if he got injured we would struggle to put out a balanced front three

On Saturday Matt Doherty played his 150th league game for Wolves. With all the millions we have spent recently Matt was a decent signing at £70k.

And if Danny Batth plays both games this week then Saturday will be his 200th league game

Keep talking about the need for a striker as if he is going to be an instant starter but what will he bring that Bonatini doesn't already?

We need cover absolutely but it won't be easy to find someone that fits the system as well as Bonatini does.

Has anyone else seen this "fun quiz" on the Wolves web site? Has anyone else never got past question 3 when a "commercial break" pops up and doesn't allow you to go any further.

Must say I'm not overly impressed with the new site. A few things are better, not least the audio commentary which, so far, hasn't failed, inlike last season, but generally I'd give it a 6/10 at best.
