But what purpose do they really serve on here? Are they just purely for politics threads?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They sow political division and state counter false narratives. There is a good article wwspd posted a while back about the troll farms.

Pretty much. Robb, if you can get CBC there's a show called The Fifth Estate. Checkout their latest show. They do a quite interesting hour on the leaders of that schitshow. Pay particular attention to Pat King, and Tamara Lich.

EXCLUSIVE 🚨 w/@harryyorke1

British intelligence withdrew assessment that giving peerage to Evgeny Lebedev posed national security risk after Boris Johnson intervened

PM ignored warning about son of ex KGB spy and oligarch, said it was "anti-Russianism"
https://t.co/fo4Uv4wwuD

Explosive new details on how Lebedev came to be given a peerage are revealed by multiple sources across Government and Whitehall tonight

It concerns what happened after the House of Lords Appointments Commission first rejected the nomination in March 2020.

This decision was based on an assessment by the security services provided to Holac via the Cabinet Office

But rather than drop the issue, PM personally intervened and pushed for it to be unblocked

Former aides objected, but PM pushed on.

What happened then is a subject of contention

But what can be now revealed is that the security services assessment of Lebedev was changed, forcing Holac to drop its objections

Some in Number 10 say they believe a ‘secret deal’ was cut at PM’s behest

Around the same time the PM is also alleged to have got involved in Gov contracts for adverts in newspapers - to ensure Lebedev’s Evening Standard benefitted

He is said to have raised Lebedev specifically with aides, and then later Cab Office official in charge

These claims are supported by sources in No10 at the time

Full story in The Sunday Times tomorrow. Make sure you buy a paper

Our report tallies with extraordinary investigation by @pcaruanagalizia in Tortoise (and reports by @lukeharding1968)

Several sources confirm their reports that intelligence suddenly withdrew their assessment

Now we know why: PM’s direct intervention

So Putin wanted to reduce NATO expansion in his warped way of doing it yet all he’s now going to get is more NATO expansion because Sweden and Finland want to join after feeling and being threatened what a clown Putin is

Can’t believe it’s been nearly two weeks already, surely these sanctions are beginning to bite. Question is will it give the Russians a siege mentality of us against the world seeing as Kremlin is controlling the news and what they know of will they hopefully be furious with Putin and a revolution starts or someone takes him out. We can hope

Or nature seeing as he’s only a few years off life expectancy

Do you think Labour people are so desperate for Boris to have to resign or step down because they know he’ll still beat Starmer in the next election?

Otherwise why would they not want him to stay and get battered in an election like in the polls they believe

Because the tories have no better alternative currently for a PM and nobody they have would beat Starmer but surely if you believe the polls the replacement PM couldn’t be worse than Boris in polling

I just don’t get Labour people’s logic, they believe and celebrate polls but then at the same time want the guy they’re heavily beating in these polls to leave and reduce their own chances in the next election

Or do you think they celebrate the polls but secretly they know they’re a load of BS and Boris still would comfortably win the next election and that’s why they want him to resign

The Prime Minister, whoever that might be, has absolutely no facking business whatsoever being involved anywhere in these processes.

The entire UK parliamentary structure is in absolutely desperate need of wholesale reform.

I think maybe they’d just prefer to see the country run by someone with a shred of integrity, selflessness and competency the next three or so years, regardless of the result of the next election.

Far too much 'Ukraine is about my pet issue' framing going on regarding Brexit, Boris Johnson etc

Oscar, Labour call for Boris to go because for all his faults, he is a winner.

Note how they don't call for an election - the traditional opposition call

I say none of this out of love for Johnson - he is a sleazy, corrupt fake conservative - but Labour's calls for him to go are opportunistic opportunistic self interested

At a time like this what you want more than a Labour PM or a Tory PM is a competent PM, a serious PM, an uncompromised PM

Johnson has - by the accounts of Ukraine and Western allies - been very competent and supportive prior to and following the invasion.

Of course, if Jolyon Jam Jar with an EU flag Twitter handle and a Ponzi scheme law project says otherwise then clearly it must be so .
