Gove has officially told Boris to go, he’s done lads
Bet yer man Zahawi is feeling silly right now
- Johnson is asked at liaison committee if he's worried that Brexit will cost 4% of GDP (official forecast) but the Australia trade deal will only add 0.08% to GDP
- the prime minister replies that Britain had a very successful vaccine programme
Just kill him please, shoot him.
Did the Aussie's give us the vaccines for nowt?
Just watching back Politics Live and seeing that pure gammon Lee Anderson stewing is giving me a hard erection
.@BorisJohnson tells Diana Johnson he “probably” met Alexander Lebedev in Italy as foreign secretary without officials. This looks like another can of worms. Lebedev is ex KGB, has had murky relationship with Putin, and is father of Evgeny L, owner of Standard

I wish Starmer spoke about this supposed tax cuts. The government literally increased NI contributions and now have a slight cut and think the slight cut is worth celebrating.
I also with he had spoke a little about how much the government are making on the 57p they make for every £1 of fuel we put into our cars. The fuel increase is lining the pockets of government.
I also wish Starmer was stronger RE brexit. Let's admit irs a huge mistake.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly, I hate how the gov get the blame for the price of fuel...
It's the fuel companies setting the bloody prices, and they are posting record high profits, if they dropped it to £1 a litre tomorrow the government's % would fall in line with it.
Did you see the 5p duty cut passed on a month ago? I didn't, it went straight in the pockets of the fuel companies shareholders.
Not often I'll go in to bat for the Tories, but this narrative really grips my shiiiiiit, theres one group of people responsible for the cost of living crisis and its shareholders, the demand for ever increasing dividends and share prices has created this toxicity, it's a profits crisis, it's facking Victorian, the 350 wealthies companies in this country are making 72% more than they did pre pandemic... But they need MORE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The higher the price of fuel, the more of those 57p per £1 they make. Its crazy to think the government would not drop that 57p considerably without the need of it being up for debate on it being passed down.
I agree with you RE the fuel companies, but the government tare there for us. For you to not even suggest they should drop the tax on fuel is what annoys me. They make more money the more the price goes up,yet don't pass that on to us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They tried it a month ago. It didn't affect the price at the pumps!
And no I don't think they should drop their share (I thought it was 49p?) Any tax cut needs funding elsewhere, we shouldn't be cutting taxes as the government haemorrhages money trying to buy off the next election.
What we need is a regulator to tie the PUMP PRICE to the BARRELL PRICE.
It's the same now as it was 10 years ago, it's ludicrous to suggest the government is somehow at fault here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
nobody is suggesting that the GVT is responsible for the price of fuel. But it should reduce the VAT they receive from motorists who buy it at the pumps at high prices and quit ripping us off in that respect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They aren't ripping us off, the fuel companies are, and they will just use the headroom the government create to increase profits, and guess what, your tax on other items will have to go up to compensate...
And then when the fuel price drops, what do you think will happen when they bump it back up to ensure no shortfall on the pre "crisis" price?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The GVT are happy to make hay whilst its 2 pound a litre with VAT. A £50 tank of petrol when it was a pound a litre now costs £100. We can all do the math. And you would have to be an idiot to think petrol prices will drop to pre ukraine and brexit levels
