Could be the end of Macron and even Uber.
Cameron and Osborne will probably be in the files somewhere as they were both complicit in getting Uber a licence in London.

Macron is lucky this news launched after he won a second term

These conservative campaign adds so far have been shockingly poor - especially in comparison to Keir Starmer's in 2020.
I suppose though it's only really for the conservative membership, so the bechmark for quality is obviously very low!

The race to the bottom is well and truly on.
We just need a candidate to now say they would scrap Income Tax completely and reintroduce child labour and possibly slavery to pull in the Right Wing votes.

Honestly, better production value than at least half these Tory videos!
Zahawi on a Sky news interview has just proposed a 20% budget cut to every single government department if he became PM.
One of the most ludicrous things I've ever heard
Should also add he's promised to release his tax returns if he becomes PM, but only future tax returns.
"Nadhim Zahawi says he will publish his own tax returns annually if he becomes Prime Minister.
Asked if he will also publish his backdated tax returns for the past ten years, he replies: "I will publish them going forward. I don't think being retrospective is right."
Definitely nothing dodgy there then
That Sue Ellen Braverman interview where she flat out bottled it was amazing.

Faisal Islam bringing the numbers to the discussion about the Tory leadership candidates’ race to the bottom:
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-62117277
(We don’t do much of this on here, or across society more generally I don’t think, but some praise for a mainstream journalist here: I think Faisal is a very talented lad, a supreme communicator, and real asset to the BBC.)
Quite simply tax cuts means deep cuts to services. Thats not going to wash with the public after coming out of a pandemic. This is why most of the common sense part of the Tory party are backing Sunak.
Its shocking how much the general public and populist media are portraying this as entertainment full of lies and 'fairytales'.
Directors at the foreign office are now looking at the Truss launch video, because some of the footage was filmed by civil servants not spads and they may not be allowed to use it
The cuts need to be in VAT if everyone’s going to benefit.
An extra fiver off Income Tax a week is meaningless even if you’re on minimum wage

a) How will you pay for it?
b) Why won't it be swallowed by an increase in inflation?

It's beyond time for a restructuring of VAT.
There are some very to me obvious items/services which should be VAT exempt, like domestic energy use, the provision of social care services, and some currently non-VAT exempt products helping reduce the energy consumption of homes and businesses. These could be paid for by the introduction of a new top rate for certain luxury products and adjustments in income tax.
VAT is such a regressive tax though that ideally, long-term it is replaced completely.
The battle for the Tory right is getting increasingly congested
Hearing that Jacob Rees-Mogg could throw his hat into the ring for the leadership
If Priti Patel does as well there would be *four* candidates vying for the Tory right:
Truss
Braverman
Patel
Rees-Mogg
