It does amaze me how so many people view culture war bullsh!t above actual issues like the economy.

"They can't even define a woman".

Trans people account for something like 2% of the population, is that really the biggest issue in the UK right now during a cost of living crisis?

It's great to see them tear themselves apart over it though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Two per cent is 1.4m people.

It is also possible to be concerned about a cost of living crisis and while also having an interest in what your children get taught at schools, the state's right to potentially dictate or impose medical treatment or councillors on your children without your consent, or when referring to adults- your right to hold opinions and views you believe in...

Pretty important things that shouldn't be dismissed imo.

Also I think Labour are in much more of a knot on this than the Tories tbh.

NEW: Suella Braverman is now calling for Britain to leave the European Convention on Human Rights. A new wedge issue opens in the Tory contest

Fascist candidate makes fascist policy.

The new attorney general is a member of a controversial religious sect which continues to venerate its founder despite well-documented claims that he was a serial sexual predator, the Observer can reveal.

Suella Braverman is a mitra – Sanskrit for “friend” – within the Triratna order, once one of Buddhism’s largest sects in the UK, which has been rocked by claims of sexual misconduct, abuse and inappropriate behaviour.

Is there any foooking Tory out there not linked to a nonce??

How the foook is Braverman that high up? She’s probably got the ERG rooting for her.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of all the cadidates I would probably take Penny Mordaunt.

Suella Braverman would be ideal though, just to see the Conservatives tank even further into depravity.

These conservative campaign adds so far have been shockingly poor - especially in comparison to Keir Starmer's in 2020.

I suppose though it's only really for the conservative membership, so the bechmark for quality is obviously very low!

I like them but don’t trust her though. Rishi or Penny, Penny seems like the better version of Liz T although only know of her since Friday

I think in terms of the bonfire of tax cut pledges we are about to see this i agree that gender based culture wars are about to be very very stupid.

But it will win votes, because to some people it does mean more than the complete collapse of the financial system.

This old interview with Braverman is interesting, not least cause it totally exposes who and what she is, but also cause it was the last interview of its kind I saw with her. She’s 100% robot-reading-a-script now, I suspect *because* of this.

It depends on which area of the culture war we are talking about.

Immigration and asylym seekers can be tied politically into the big issues like the cost of living crissis and inflation. Whereas gender self-ID is a fringe bioplitical question which is important to a small percentage of people.

It could well be sidelined que to the different on-going crisies, or there could be a potential to swfitly push for new legestlation. Either way, I don't think its going to be much of a vote winner.

Could be the end of Macron and even Uber.

Cameron and Osborne will probably be in the files somewhere as they were both complicit in getting Uber a licence in London.
