Cancel culture is a leftist disease

Thought you would love the anti-natzi.

Do you like Ghandi, btw, as he was racist against black Africans?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you just respond on-topic without whitabootery?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Historical figures who have statues in the UK, you mean?

Ok, lol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, not what I meant at all,, but you deflect away.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Haha, lighten up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am light, continue...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You do not seem light very often here.

Do I trigger you still?

Thought this had moved on, but you appear prickly in my presence, lmao.

No matter what I post, you take a contrary view, haha.

Why not filter me?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Grow up you paranoid idiot.
You reacted to my post with whitabootery rather than the subject in hand and now you attack me for wanting to hear your views on my post/link.

Why would I want to filter you? I'm not like you, your behaviour when you are filtered by other posters is odd, some weird martyrdom complex, demanding to be excluded and then getting all passive aggressive at being filtered.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
God bless you my son.

Hope you had a good Paddys Day and enjoy your day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay chicken, make it about personalities rather than the point at gsnd, as usual.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am just wishing you good day and leaving it.

Chill.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah right.

Brilliant piece. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it like.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As time evolves, historical figures are revisited, biographies written and their personalities rarely survive modern scrutiny unscathed . Churchill does seem to be beyond scrutiny though.

The culture war over Churchill is so boring

He is a national hero but was also a massive racist, it's possible to acknowledge and accept both
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely. He's not divine and not beyond criticism.

The thing is I had to discover Churchill's flaws on my own. If I relied solely on what they taught me at school or official positions then the man is mythical and I would be defending them statues with my life. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

churchill was a man of his generation
you have to remember the vast majority of ppl at that time, had those views on race, because that was what they were socially conditioned to think

most of you woke lot would be just the same , if you were born a 100 years ago, that's the truth of it

So what's your excuse for you dark age views on race and gender?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
my views aren't from the dark ages
my views are well informed and based on science

your views are based on the woke social conditioning that is currently taking place in the west

your mind set is the same as churchill's was during his day regarding race and women........based on the fashionable prevailing view of the times

ppl like you, if you were germans in the 30s, would have become die hard naziiiis

Lashing out now peks

Who's more likely to fall for fascism here really?

🤔
----------------------------------------------------------------------
those ppl most susceptible to prevailing social fashions were most likely to become fascists/nazis back in the 30s....that's a fact

actually there are many similarities between present day woke/cancel culture and fascism

The "it was acceptable at the time" thinking is fair but how do you think those attitudes changed over time?

By being WOKE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Perhaps, but still, Churchill was a bit extreme for his time in some respects, as mentioned in the article. For instance, opposition to colonialism was already strong when he was in charge but colonialism would have never ended so long as Churchill had anything to do with it. His interest in eugenics and his view on racial supremacy were already an outdated idea in many respects. At the end of the war the declaration of human rights provided the equality of all men and did not exactly agree with some of his ideas which shows he was a bit backward, even for his time.
