Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be delighted if the Tories go rightwards and to war with Reform. But I very much doubt it’ll happen.

Analysis by the Sutton Trust suggests that Keir Starmer’s cabinet will have the highest number of ministers educated at comprehensive schools, and the lowest proportion in modern history who went to private schools.

Could happen temporarily I guess. They might try to see Reform off one way or another, then pull back towards the centre.

No coccking about now. This is a massive mandate, and Labour have to be planning for five years of complete economic renewal.

What we need to see ‘day one’ is announcements on those issues it’s going to take five years to address: industrial policy, massive infrastructure investment, house building.

Those cannot wait twelve or eighteen months to get rolling.

For all the talk of Labour's low vote share, i wonder how many voted for the likes of Lib Dems as a tactical vote just to get the Tories out

Least this has shown just how quickly people will flip in 5 years though, so Labour can’t think just because they’ve got a huge majority that in 5 years they’d still worst case scenario win with a minority. As it can flip so quick and so big
