For what? UNRWA has over 300,000 employees. I'm not surprised some low level recruits were also in Hamas. The law of probability.

I couldn’t agree more, I often apply laws of averages to these things, not to mention the heated nature of the conflict.

However, the conversations on here went quite differently and people were gleefully pointing to articles stating that Israel had no evidence, it was just more Israeli propaganda that I was just yet again falling for right wing propaganda blah blah blah when all I said was that it was very strange to fire perfectly innocent people rather than suspend them pending investigation and here we are.

Low level recruits? I’d look at it in a bit more depth mate. They weren’t all cleaners

No matter what the status of 9 employees, out of hundreds, it was still no reason to completely cut off aid to millions of people. The UK & US backing it doesn't justify it either. It was a snide move from Israel and you know it.

None of which was the topic of conversation at the time.

But I think there is a Hamas link within UNRWA which runs deeper and at higher levels than most are aware. This may not be the case, it is merely my opinion.

They are huge in terms of aid in that area and holding off funds for a short while is not something I agree with but it’s not exactly a good mix is it? Giving foreign aid to an organisation which has direct links to a terrorist organisation, some of whom directly carried out acts of savagery; be it rpe, murder or kidnapping.

They are doing the victims a disservice, which is why they commissioned their highest level internal investigation and why they have rightly fired people

The reason for mentioning this was simply to point out that there was indeed plenty of veracity in Israel’s claims about the UNRWA employees. Claims that were treated with derision from the outset, labelled as Israeli propaganda, I was labelled as a right wing sucker for Israeli propaganda. I even had BMCL making the argument that it is in fact perfectly normal, under these circumstances, to summarily fire people accused with no evidence whatsoever. Which was complete rubbish at the time and proven to be so this week.

These individuals already control us to an incredibly high degree, mate. This is nothing new, and they don’t need to be sat in democratic assemblies to exert their authority.

Musk reportedly plans to give $45m *per month* to a Trump Super Pac. And a few days after Musk comes out in support of him, Trump says in a speech that he’s now a great fan of electric vehicles

It’s a silly example, of course, and the US system is proxy-feudalism on steroids compared to the UKs; but to a growing extent, our political campaigns are paid for by multi-millionaires and billionaires. Our newspapers and media outlets are also owned, almost exclusively, by multi-millionaires and (mostly) billionaires.

Our mainstream political parties and, albeit to a slightly lesser extent, politicians are left completely in hock to and petrified to upset the interests of the same people, because they’re only able to continue to serve at the discretion of these individuals.

One further example: Rachel Reeves is a great champion of banking reform, and of keeping FS in check from various perspectives. She researches, writes and talks about it extensively, and she knows what she’s talking about.

Along comes a GE in which Labour has a chance to take power and *very suddenly* Reeves very publicly says she won’t be reinstating the cap on bankers bonuses (a complete 180 degree shift in position) and more quietly publishes a document in which Labour says it will “slash 10,000 pages” of FS regulations and rules out a windfall tax on bank profits.

None of that was done because a) it was vote-winning positioning or b) it’s smart for the UK economy (as Reeves would formerly have attested to). So why would Labour do it? We all know why, and we choose to ignore it.

And it’s not 9 by the way. Only one of them has been fully cleared, early in the year people were fired summarily and just this week others were kept on due to insufficient evidence (notably not cleared)

Phone up reform headquarters and claim to be a doner wishing to make a large contribution to the party. Like six figures big.

Tell them you want to speak to NF himself about it.

If he ever does call you, then you do the bait and switch and lay your local problems on him. I’d record the phone call so you can post it on social media when he does nothing for you.

And this reply:
