Some questions about the guy behind it though.. He is also the guy behind tether. Rumours he is using the tether funds to keep bitcoin bubble going. No idea as to the validity.
yea, these exchanges are all a bit dodgy and probe to attack.... make your trades and get them in a proper wallet
btw - I use Binance these days,

Yep, but you can't add/withdraw funds from UK account... So need to buy bitcoin/litecoin elsewhere then to an exchange, then to the other cryptos.
Ok apparently I need a referral code to get into bitfinex
Seems as though there's a lot of people looking for one
try www.binance.com
It has loads more coins anyway... But, as said, treat them as dodgy (as you should with coinbase).
If you coins aren't in your wallet, you simply don;t own them.

Does binance have iota?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yep
Also, keep an eye out for Substratum, it just got listed on another big exchange this morning... should get good gains today (and is a good coin, with decent tech ideas)
Ok I'll check out the wallet thing too. Thanks.
This time next year you’ll be a millionaire Mr C. IF Nick doesn’t mess about
Verge is going off the chart. Over 1000% in the last week, 121% in the last 24 hours.
The McAfee tweet sent them to the moon.
The wallet wouldn't work for me though, so no dice... I don't care how much something makes... If I have to keep the coin on an exchange, it's worthless to me

Not if you transfer it to real money. Or are you one who believes the crypto will eventually have real world value?
I have no interesting in day trading. If I want to invest in Verge for, say, 12 months... there is no way I would keep those coins on an exchange.
Bitfinex got hacked and lost millions, only Monday, one of the largest in South Korea got hacked and lost millions. Bittrex and Coinbase both have a history of blocking user accounts with funds still in them.
Like I said, until your coins are in a wallet (or exchanged for fiat and back in your bank, in your case) you own nothing.

It's still kinda day trading though as the continuous shuffle in and out of various crypto's is quite different from investing in any conventional sense.

Exactly. Long term, everybody is going to want to convert to real currencies anyway.
Either way.... I own the coins I buy, I am in control of them.... Which is the exact point of crypto.
And yea, i'm a believer that I will be able to use some of these coins in the real world, pretty soon.
I often pay my coder in crypto, so it already has real world uses for me.

I definitely second your warnings about using online wallets. It's disaster waiting to happen. That South Korean exchange has filed for bankruptcy
If Coinbase doesn't get hacked, it will be close to a miracle.
If you do keep your coins there, at least use 2FA, email confimations etc... don;t get lazy and think it will never happen to me.
Yeah I use 2FA whenever I log on using a new machine, and email confirmation I think.
Jeez, IOTA has been in steady decline since 10:30 this morning.
