Stoneman
Vince
Root
Malan
Bairstow
Foakes
Woakes
Curran
Crane
Anderson
Wood

I can't see a scenario where cook gets dropped but Vince doesn't. Vince opening is a disaster waiting to happen
All the talk seems to be that Crane will come in for Overton so England will go with 3 seamers and 2 spinners.
Only Crane and Curran will come in, I can't see massive changes
Cook won't be moved from the team, the top 5 are more or less set now
For Overton and who? Moeen or Broad?
Pietersen thinks Broad is done but England's next series is in New Zealand where he should have a lot more joy.
Reckon Anderson and woakes should open the bowling. 2 spinners might work for moeen as he would be the 2nd spinner. Question about moeen. Has he got his spin bowling coach out there or not? As a manufactured spinner he always does better with saqlain but goes to pot when he is left to his own devices.
No matter how many changes u may plan, result will be the same. Be ready for some serious ass whooping
Reckon England will bottle it just Curran for overton.
Paine and Starc are 50/50 to play at the MCG, I doubt it will make much difference to the result.

Incredible that Moeen is seen as undroppable. Well not incredible really, we aren't exactly bursting with options in terms of this kind of player.
Moeen's batting means no spinner is likely to take his place unless they are handy with the bat. Unfortunate way that we look at it but if Leach comes in then England are going to want more than just bowling.
Although I would say that Moeen was fantastic in the summer and deserves more than to be dropped after a poor few tests.
Tom Curran coming in for the Fourth Test. Maybe seen as a safer choice than Crane. I expect Oz to win anyway.
credit to england to restricting aussies for 244-3 on the first day play which looks like a batting paradise of a surface
normally aussies wud rack up 350-400 on that sort of surface so well played england.
good to finally see warner making a decent contribution. normally likes to chirp a lot but has been quiet this series except for today of course.
I suspect the pitch won't look so easy when England bat and Australia bowl. But we'll see.
Unlucky on the toss but England will lose this. Lot of stuff talked about the length of the tail and the bottling of Cook but some of the bowlers, Broad I'm looking at you, just haven't been particularly fantastic. Not that they've been terrible, it's just we really needed our A game to make this series competitive. England have been meh throughout.

Think that was absolutely the conventional thinking but this series will embolden those who say we won't do Jack sh111t away from England without a proper spinner. I note that knee jerk boycott has joined this crew.
Enough is enough for me with moeen. Time to find a proper spinner. Been copping out since swann retired with this 4 seamer part time spin attack. Time for the selectors to do their job and find that bowler be it crane, parry, leach, Rashid, Patel.
Moeen has done well before. I'm not sure whether injury is part of the problem just now. But maybe Crane should be given a shot in the last Test regardless.
Good day's play from England all round. But their problem is that they've never been able to back it up with another good day's play and press home any advantage they've had so far this series. It would be typical if they collapse and give the aussies a lead.
The first time England have had a whole day's good play in the series?

Smith dropped Cook because he was wearing two caps
Two caps are not better than one
Well done to Broad and Cook. Great performances from them today. As said above, England need to back it up tomorrow.
Magnificent from england
honestly i have no idea who said australia were on top after day 1.
where is fact taker - no mocking now.
I expect England to comfortably stroll to victory here.
Aussie dont rally care as they have used up all their energy in the first 3 tests now they are showing complacency.
credit to Cook - I hae wanted him dropped for a year but has struck a magnificent century.
Also Broad for magnificent bowling figures.
Australia have no way back unless they take early wickets which i cant see happening.
Seems like Anderson was chirping the truth. Aussies dont really have a good depth of bowlers.
