I've seen some laughable stuff on this forum over the years but this Sanchez transfer has brought City and Arsenal fans out with some absolute classics.
Some City fans have actually convinced themselves that, after half a season of dominant, excellent football, that the only possible reason a player might join United over City is money?
It's so delusional it's painful.
This is the club that has built it's success purely on money. The club that has spent over £200 million on a defence.
You have got to be kidding me, right?
And then there are some Arsenal fans, who genuinely believe the only reason a player would move from Arsenal to Man Utd is money?
This is the club whose own fans have turned on their manager. Do we really need to go through the problems at Arsenal and the reason why a player like Sanchez doesn't want to stay there beyond his contract?
Man Utd is the biggest club in the country. It has a prestige that is unrivaled in the UK and there is no questioning the club's ambition.
This attempt at re-positioning clubs to have City as the paupers who are only interested in good football and developing players, whilst United are the club who can only attract players through money, is one of the most laughable things I've read in the past ten years.
Yet some of these clowns have actually convinced themselves. Unbelievable.

Last season Chelsea were levels above us but we look down on them in the table
We’re buyinb players like Sanchez and they’re likely to lose Hazard and buy players like Ashley Barnes
City are very good but they’re not Barcelona 2009. It’s extrenely hard to retain the title in the PL. Only SAF and Jose have done it. Pep may well but at the very least with Sanchez I expect us to push them all the way and I see no reason why we can’t do that

WengersNearlyMen (U5041)
Okay.
So why is it so unbelievable that part of the reason Sanchez has joined United is ambition to win the league?
I think what most people have a problem with is the notion that he’s only joined because of the money, forgetting he’s joining one of the biggest clubs in the world, who have every chance of winning big trophies over the next few years.
The disrespect shown towards Utd the last week from certain sections of the press has been very eye opening, and a lot of journalists have left themselves open to ridicule just for a quick dig.

That’s not to say we will win the league. But we have an excellent chance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not saying he isn't but utd have got to outshine City who are levels above plus you've got to deal with Chelsea also plus liverpool and spurs seem to be better teams than utd.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last season Chelsea were levels above us but we look down on them in the table
We’re buyinb players like Sanchez and they’re likely to lose Hazard and buy players like Ashley Barnes
City are very good but they’re not Barcelona 2009. It’s extrenely hard to retain the title in the PL. Only SAF and Jose have done it. Pep may well but at the very least with Sanchez I expect us to push them all the way and I see no reason why we can’t do that

The league is sewn up this year.
So what?
He can't have ambitions to win the league for the next four years with United then?
Get real.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not gods given right for utd to win the league u know.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who said it was?
Are you reading different words to what is typed??

In what way did I imply it was?
I'm saying Sanchez will have designs on winning the league with United.
The fact that he won't this year is hardly relevant.

Okay.
So why is it so unbelievable that part of the reason Sanchez has joined United is ambition to win the league?
posted on 22/1/18
I think what most people have a problem with is the notion that he’s only joined because of the money, forgetting he’s joining one of the biggest clubs in the world, who have every chance of winning big trophies over the next few years.
The disrespect shown towards Utd the last week from certain sections of the press has been very eye opening, and a lot of journalists have left themselves open to ridicule just for a quick dig.

I'd be saying exactly the same thing.

The current champions who reside in a desirable spot where he already lives, and can pay big wages.
It would have been a good move for him, they’ve taken plenty of our transfer targets over the years.

You?
They will start next season as favourites but United will hardly be outsiders.

Tbh Chelsea Liverpool and Spurs got just as much chance of winning it as Utd.
