On this thread but not the other one, right?
It's too early to say he has failed. It's too early to label him a flop.
If he has a brilliant next 12 months, he wouldn't be labelled as a flop. That is not remotely unlikely or outrageous, and it's the reason that you and others are wrong.
It's not subjective. It's what the word means.
Vidicschin (U3584)
It's not ridiculous - it's accurate.
Feel free to read the many comments on here as to why. TOOR is on his 4th time around.

Which other one?
"If he has a brilliant next 12 months, he wouldn't be labelled as a flop"
Correct but we're talking about now not a hypothetical future.
Vidicschin (U3584)
Oh dear.
You're still upset about yesterday and have been waiting for a chance to pick it back up.
Bless.
I'm talking about what a word means.
That isn't absolutes, that's just correct English.
I'm giving this thread five stars as I think it's been hilarious up to now. If it changes in future I'll reduce my rating.
There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)
The other thread. It's not just me with this opinion, was my point.
If it is possible for him not to be regarded as a flop in 12 months then he is not a flop now.
You're either a flop or you're not. You can't go from being a flop to a success.

That sums up how, despite many explanations, you lack the intelligence to understand the point.
Thanks.
"Who determines what a word means? You?"
Pretty sure the dictionaries have that one covered.

OK so Cambridge dictionary says it means 'failure'.
Pogba up to this point has been a failure.
Why do you disagree with the dictionary?
Oh dear.

You're trying to move the goalposts.
The vote on this thread does not put things in that context, does it?
It's a straightforward, who is the most expensive flop. And people have quite rightly said it's too early to label him a flop, in comparison with the likes of Carroll.
Vidicschin (U3584)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't moved the goalposts at all. I stated Pogba was a flop and because he's the most expensive of all the flops he wins the poll.
You tried to move the goalposts by suggesting I didn't know what flop means despite me holding the same definition as the dictionary.
If people think it's too early, that's fine, as it's subjective but to set in stone that he can't be a flop as you think flop means a total failure is ridiculous.
Vidicschin (U3584)
The emotion pouring out of people would suggest differently.
There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)
You have.
If this were a poll about new signings and who is failing the most, then Pogba would be on it.
But it's not.
It's a straightforward question about who is the most expensive flop. Pogba cannot be on that list because he is not yet a flop. It's too soon, illogical and flawed to call him a flop.
That's not subjective. That's a fact - if you understand what the word means.

Foaming at the mouth, no.
Emotional? I'd say angry - on rare occasions.
My insults have mostly been after someone has insulted me, so I just respond in kind.

But it's not a fact. Unless you disagree with the dictionary, everybody on here and the media, in how the use the word flop in this context.
The question asked who is the most expensive flop, flop is subjective but most on here determined Pogba a flop and the most expensive one. That's why he won. If you think he hasn't been a flop, that's fine but it's certainly not absolutely and without doubt not incorrect due to the meaning of the word in the dictionary.
Actually, frustrated is probably more appropriate than angry.
But it happens so rarely that I couldn't even tell you the last time that was the case.
