Rumours that David Corenswet is now the frontrunner for Superman. Can't pretend to know much about him but apparently he flies around in a cape and saves people and stuff

Feel bad for any actor who has to replace Cavill in this role. Especially as we never got a conclusion to Cavill Superman's story and it was unceremoniously stopped midway. A lot of disgruntled fans out there, especially the awful way Cavill has been treated by Warner so I think the new actor is on a hiding to nothing at this point.

The good news for him is Cavill's movies all underperformed critically and at the box office and were never really accepted by the general public - with most his fans being fringe nerds on reddit.

Other good thing is his acting is indistinguishable for a block of wood and he has as much charisma as an NPC.

So it's a low bar with low expectations of Superman.

Cavill's Superman is also associated with the previous batch of movies, which have been largely poor.

As far as David goes, his face fits the role but he'll have to bulk up.

I don't see there being huge interest in this. Lots of fans are very disillusioned by the constant course correcting and rebooting of this character at this point. Warner Bros always seems to fumble when it comes to Superman on the big screen. I don't see that trend stopping anytime soon.

In its 2nd week it has grossed in total…
$210m
$87m domestically. This is a certified BOMB!
Even Black Adam did better numbers, and that was a disaster.
We in the realms of Morbius and Shazam 2 people!!

So what’s number 1 you ask?….

Spider-Man - Across the SpiderVerse has reclaimed the top spot.
With a total gross of $560m and a domestic total of $317m.
Seems people just can’t get enough of Spider-man. But, his time maybe coming to an end, as Indiana Jones is out next week..

But what an absolute disaster for Warner Bros/DC.
This is surely gonna hurt Aquaman 2, and possibly the legacy of..Superman Legacy…

Heh..see what I did there…ah shut up

I doubt it will impact Superman Legacy, as that movie has a release date of July 2025 and considering Aquaman is the final DCEU movie in 2023, it will be more than a year before we get any Gunn related DC movie.
