I think the Venom films are messy in a fun enough way, not just an outright shiiitshow like some of the others.

I guess it's such an iconic character though which is where the disdain comes in.

For me it's mostly that they've turned him into a cringe mess with a ridiculous voice. It actually feels like a bad fan fiction and I want to punch the screen every time I hear that voice.

They completely wasted Harrelson and Naomie Harris in the last one too.

Yeah that's fair. I didn't end up watching the second tbf. Partner went to the premier on Weds and she didn't mind it too much - like she wasn't a huge fan of this or Joker 2 but thought this was watchable whereas Joker was really boring.

So just kinda going off that and the 1st one.

Yeah I can understand that, Joker 2 bored me as well

Also does this mean much with Disney anymore? I know it's not as bad with Marvel as it is with Star Wars but there seem to be a lot of projects getting announced that never come to anything.

Spidey 4 is pretty much a cert, it was heavily rumoured to take that empty slot and how long ago was Anya cast?

They do seem to be making a habit of it though, look at Blade and the Ironheart show that was supposedly filmed two years ago but not released, and Armor Wars now being a movie instead of a series.

Oh yeah I figured Spidey would get made, just not putting much stock into their confirmed plans. I honestly find it mad they haven't done more with Shang-Chi yet!

Ha typical, Shang Chi was my favourite thing in phase 4 (admittedly it's a low bar) so of course it's just a dead end.
