Any Marvel / DC news?

Not really news but has anyone seen or heard about the Absolute Batman comic book series ? It's a more contemporary take on the character, in this version Bruce Wayne isn't rich and his origin story is different. Alfred isn't his butler and Batman himself is different, he's able to use his cape as a weapon and to manoeuvre in combat and the Bat symbol on his chest can be used as an axe.

Yeah it does doesn't it. Could well be the future of the character. I think people are finding it more difficult to relate to a rich guy with a butler. Especially as butlers don't really exist anymore lol.

This version of Bruce Wayne is poor and he's basically had to build himself up from nothing which is obviously way more relatable. Alfred and him start off as enemies. And his rogue's gallery are all totally different, killer croc is an ally. Joker is deadly serious and never smiles.

We're also getting an Absolute Superman which will similarly change and update the character so will be very interesting to see what they do with that. The traditional Superman mythos is also getting a bit stale and needs freshening up as well.

That would be good. Was never a big fan of Superman growing up, could definitely do with an update.

Yeah I wished they just stuck with superkid tbh. My favourite scenes were when the little toddler was lifting sh!t up and Jonathan Kent was like wtf?!

Sounds like they're turning Batman into a contemporary artist you find in today's art world where the struggle that the artist ensured during the life matters more than the art itself

Ahhaaha… The stadium, in which this spectacular moment happened was where Bane and the League of Shadows attacked and blew up the pitch in the Dark Knight Rises.
Which was the 3rd film in Chris Nolan’s Batman Trilogy, starring Christian Bale.
It is a film made by DC/Warner Bros and can be watched on any good streaming platform and spoke aboot on this forum only.

And to add, did you know Tom Hardy and Juno Temple were in The Dark Knight Rises. And now you can see them team up again as they cross over to MARVEL and the MCU, in Sonys amazing interpretation of Spider-Mans great foe in VENOM 3: The Last Dance

Dunno, from the sound of it this version of Batman is pretty hardcore, he's just not born into obscene wealth. He's had to be very resourceful and innovative so he's been able to amass and create lots of tec and has a version of a batcave in disused buildings high up.

His Bat symbol can be converted into an axe and the horns on his cowl can be pulled out as knives. Everything serves a function on his suit and he can use the cape as a weapon to slice enemies but also uses the cape like stilts in combat. This Batman doesn't kill but he slices off arms and legs so definitely R rated.

All looks very unique from what I've seen and a really fresh take that we might even eventually see in live action as an Elseworld movie if it continues to gain as much traction as it is.

Maybe some interest in the Reeve documentary that's coming out? Looks good to me
