So.....looks like Robert Pattinson and Nichola Hoult are the frontrunners to play Batman. Pattinson the favourite apparently (seems to be reported everywhere). Really not sure what to make of that.
This must confirm a younger Batman considering the ages of the actors mentioned.
I finally watched Endgame last night having spent the last couple of weeks rewatching most of the MCU movies in the build up to this.
Avoiding Endgame spoilers online up until last night was an absolute nightmare as they've been everywhere in the last couple of weeks, even in article headlines which is unacceptable while it's still playing in cinemas.
Definitely have mixed feelings about it though. I was very entertained in parts throughout this movie particularly the end action scene and certain scenes before that, but there were definitely parts I didn't care for and that felt out of place.
The time travel stuff was an utter mess in my opinion, didn't make much sense to me at all. If anyone wants to try and explain it to me then feel free . Having seen pretty much every single time travel movie ever made this made the least sense to me.
Also it did feel like a bit of a parody at times. Particularly with fat Thor and intelligent Hulk. Fat Thor just felt like just a reason to keep Hemsworth happy and it didn't really fit with the tone of the movie. Felt forced.
Also what were we doing back in Thor: Dark World ?? Considering it was one of the least popular MCU movies it seemed like a strange decision to revisit it to such an extent, even if it was deemed necessary for the weird time travel plot.
Not being smug but I knew for sure that Stark was going to die in this movie. And the rumblings about Chris Evans wanting out have been there for a couple of years so no surprises seeing his character essentially killed off.
I certainly much preferred IW over this movie but overall I think phase 1-3 of these MCU movies have been brilliant and binge rewatching all or most of them is highly recommended
At the same time I don't have a huge amount of interest in phase 4 or what happens beyond this point. I very much doubt it will anywhere near as good as what came before.

Hes actually a really good actor, though some people wont let the twilight stuff go
I wasn't convinced with Falcon becoming the new Captain America either. Do his abilities warrant it? He's just a normal human, no special abilities as such (unless I've missed something from his backstory).
Wouldn't Bucky have been a better choice purely in terms of fighting ability and super strength etc ? Surely Falcon would get his ass kicked if he dressed up as Cap without his wings and machine guns
Superb a lot of this has been discussed if you want to read back ( lots of different opinions too )
On Bucky I think they felt they could put a former terrorist as the new cap America as he’s supposed to be a symbol of hope, trust and good.
Although falcon doesn’t really do it for me either. He’s just a b list superhero.
Doesn't the winter soldier become the new captain America in the comics?
I know why they made Falcon the new cap though...black super hero will sell more in the current climate. Just look at the numbers Black Panther did despite being not that good.
Both Bucky & falcon became Captain America in the comics

The Russos talking about why Falcon got the shield:
"We definitely would sit around and talk about what made the best story moving forward, and Sam just always felt like the right recipient," Joe confirms. "After all, Bucky is damaged."
"And Sam seemed to most share [Steve Rogers'] qualities," Anthony adds. "When they first met, the bond between those two characters just spoke to a symmetry in their moral nature."

Heard good things about him though I can't say I've seen him in much. Just can't really see him as Batman though I'm willing to give him a chance.

It does feel like a very PC decision more than a money decision. If their thinking is that Falcon as Captain America will sell more then I think it's a poor decision and one that will be proved wrong.
Falcon just isn't a particularly interesting character regardless of his ethnicity. And when I think of him I'm reminded of that scene right at the start of Winter Soldier where Cap is constantly lapping Falcon on his morning run.
So basically our new Captain America is a vastly inferior physical specimen than Cap. Great.
Bucky makes much more sense as the new Cap as he's a super soldier in his own right albeit in a different program to Steve Rogers.
Personally I wouldn't bother paying money to see a movie with Falcon as Captain America. Does nothing for me personally and doesn't make much sense either. Might as well make Hawkeye the new Cap.

Nah. So Steve Rogers was never damaged? He spent his entire life getting beaten up and bullied up until the super soldier program. Then spent 70 years in ice and as a result lost everyone dear to him including the love of his life. How is that not damaged ?
The symmetry was surely always between Cap and Bucky. They grew up together and fought in a war together. Bucky shares all of Cap's values. It wasn't his fault he was captured, mind controlled and turned into the Winter Soldier. What a redemption story it would have been making Bucky the new Cap. Surely that's a great story going forward.
I get the reasoning behind Falcon, but I don’t really agree with it, they could have changed the narrative around Bucky’s character that leads to him becoming the next Captain America.
would mean alot more bucky taking it, considering everything hes been through could have a great story there, with falcon its just meh, okay

Cap also shows his loyalty to Bucky, culminating in his redemption among the Avengers. It would have been the better option for the next Captain America, in my opinion. It just makes more sense to have another super soldier in the role.

Robert Pattison has Batman is an interesting pick. He has the credentials but he will surely have to bulk up unless they are going down the batman beyond route. Either way, Matt Reeves has my faith.

It's a very interesting choice. Was initially unsure about him as Batman (though I'm sure he'll make a good Bruce), but the more I think about it the more I think he'll be a good fit.
If they're going back to Batman's detective roots as rumoured then this is going to be a very interesting take on the character. Especially with Matt Reeves at the helm.
