I know all that, and get the reasoning, as I stated before. But I still think it’s a crap choice.

That would have been the best way to go. But I imagine Disney’s marketing team wouldn’t have been too keen on the idea of losing both Iron Man and Captain America.

Btw Cap is not an interesting character to me...so I don't have a problem character wise with Falcon. It'll still be a run of the mill protagonist.

Deadline (usually reliable source) are reporting that the Falcon / Bucky show will feature Zemo and Sharon Carter. Also it will be 6 episodes long and has a BAFTA-winning director attached.

Interesting if true, I was a big fan of what they did with Zemo in Civil War. Always wanted to see more of him.

Yeah all this talk about whether the right choice was made but it'll be a long time before we see Cap in the MCU again lol

Watched Spider-Man homecoming last night as it’s on Netflix now.

Haven’t seen it since it came out and I have to say it’s a very solid film.

The growth in Peter Parker is huge from a goofy kid to a smart young man.

Looking forward to Far from home now

I thought it was dull, uninspired, and pretty boring. The only plus was the actor that played spider man was good

I did exactly the same thing, very solid film. The scene where Spidey discovers the Vulture is Liz's dad is one of my favourite MCU scenes - great tension there.

Some good films added to Netflix recently (OT but I'd recommend Baby Driver to anyone who hasn't seen it)

Baby driver is top notch. Superb film.

Ok, sure. SPOILERS FOLLOW for those who haven't seen it:

So overall, it was very entertaining and I love the direction they're taking this version of Spidey. The Mysterio twist was obvious for anyone who knows anything about the character (and most fans I know assumed Mysterio was lying and the elementals were illusions), but I thought it was still handled very well.

Those credit scenes were great. Delighted they brought JK Simmons back for it. Never even heard a rumour about him returning so that was a nice surprise, even if just for a cameo. Kraven seems the obvious choice for the next villain if Spidey is now (presumably) on the run. I think the director's actually namedropped him a couple of times too.

And what is Fury up to with the Skrulls? Very interesting moving forward.

Pun agree with your assessment.

It was a nice move away from endgame which was awesome but draining.

Mysterio was excellently played imo and you can see they are setting up the sinister 6.

I though fury was off all movie then obviously found out why

I know some will moan about the soppy love story but I enjoyed it and the arc Peter Parker is on

Was fury on a skrull mothership?

It was good but by no means great.

It was definitely a step down from Homecoming too.

It’s biggest issue was its complete lack of awareness of scale and emergency response.

A few examples:

Venice is being attacked by a 100ft water element and destroying buildings left, right and centre. Meanwhile, about 50 feet away, members of the school and faculty are still touring the streets and pointing out monuments.

Peter accidentally calls for a drone strike on the class bully. He manages to fix the issue by distracting the class and destroying the drone - yet nobody responded the explosion which was 10 feet from the bus?

London Bridge was practically collapsing and next to no emergency response. In fact, there was little throughout the film.

The only words I can use is lazy and dumb writing.

Do you see much emergency response in any superhero film?

That was the best Spiderman from all the movies from Toby Maguire, the other guy to now Tom Holland. Really did remind me of the cartoons from the 90s.
