When Afobe is confirmed as a Stokie he will become the 4th most expensive signing in the Championship ever behind Neves, Assombalonga and Costa.

The fee will evidently be £12m with Wolves having made a £2m profit on his recent signing

Benik Afobe has joined Stoke City. An initial 6 month loan deal with an obligatory purchase in January for an undisclosed fee.

Grimbergen's a pretty good alternative if they get to the final and you fancy an change along the way

Certainly think its the right decision on Afobe, never convinced me he would be good enough for the Premier League. His touch and movement is poor and a decent Premier League defender would not find him hard to mark out of a game

Couldn't agree more. If Wolves felt that he could make any kind of impression in the Premier League they would not have let him go. Really looking forward to watching Jimenez in the WC and then tearing our opponents up this coming season. He's tall and apparently can hold the ball up well.

We had an agreed price on Afobe, makes sense to cash in and make a couple of £Mil. Don’t think he’s top half Prem class if we’re serious about where we’re going, but good luck to him.

I have mixed feelings about this but the bottom line is I think that it is the best thing for Benik. He is a top quality Championship striker and will get lots of game time for Stoke. If he had stayed with us it would probably have been another Bournemouth for him with most of his time warming the bench. He will be one of the top scorers in the league this season and I wish him well.

No problem with the move at all so long as we are not short in August as he was only going to be a squad player and decent back up option.

That said the manner of the business is very unusual though you have to assume Afobe was happy with the deal going this way as he obviously knew the plan as I don't recall him ever commenting on his signing for us.

Turned out to be an excellent loan move in January for many reasons.
