5 ducks in the India 2nd innings

Both sides so reliant on one big partnership. Even in our big 2nd innings, top scorer behind the big 2 was Stokes with just 37

Sorry. 4 ducks

Kohli is a class act though. I haven't enjoyed a test series so much since the days of KP, Flintoff and Shane Warne. If you are going to make test cricket relevant in the modern day, it has to be played the way India do it - with heart and flair. England were just about better in English conditions and 4-1 is not the right score.

Those giddy India fans on ESPNcricinfo at tea did make me laugh.

India come out with a lot of credit for me.

If they had won a few tosses and selected correctly it could have been a different story. However, England won the big moments and have unearthed a gem in Curran.

Cook sent off in style. What a player he has been

Also, special mention to Kohli. Thought he carried himself superbly and cemented himself as the best batsman around.

Wonderful series and good luck in Aus

Fantastic series and well done to Jimmy for passing McGrath. Same problems remain for England but for now we can celebrate the achievements of Cook, Anderson and the emergence of Sam Curran.

Whoelse being a condescending waankpuffin as always. Thought we did well today especially Rahul and Pant but it was always going to end in a loss. Even with 5 to get I had pretty much zero hope of them seeing out the day once the settled two were out.

At the end of the day, the scoreline suggests a battering and it was at times but if ever a score doesn’t tell the whole story, this was it. Two very tight games which with some more luck and better planning could have been won. Effectively questions will be asked of the batting because it was so poor at times the captain aside. Kohli’s captaincy was also questionable at times although not as much as the hammering Shastri will get in the Indian media over the next few days. Glad we competed fairly well though and huge credit to the seamers. On to Australia.

I agree with you. It was a much closer series than 4-1 suggests. The Indian team play cricket in the right spirit and I have watched most of the 22 days - something I may not have done had it been a different or more negative opposition. England won the important sessions, the same as many times they have been the losers of equally important sessions. People also forget how alien the English conditions will have been to the Indian team and I think their seamers stepped up manfully considering they will often play second fiddle to the spinners in Asian conditions. The whole team, but especially Kohli, have shown also class and sensitivity throughout the series and I hope England will do the same when it is their turn to congratulate opposition player achievements. At times I think we have seen why India are the number one team in the world. The two lads today batted superbly. Kohli is a superb cricketer. Their bowlers and batsmen showed glimpses and in more favourable conditions, they are always a force. All in all, a great series to watch.

Another great test series in England again, this whole thing is test cricket dieing out is absolute nonsense.

Test series are not one-offs. They're designed to find a reliable winner. The better players win. Sometimes they win by margins which flatter how much better they are. That just means that its an above average result for them.

As ganguly said in an earlier interview, not good enough for a test team ranked no1 to be satisfied just to compete - they had a great opportunity this year given their improved bowling unit.

Also, other than India’s bowling this series... they still have the same issues as they do going away - tactics, selection, captaincy and management. If it weren’t for Kohli, it would have been embarrassing so not sure why some of their fans are trying to cover the cracks with paper.
