Feel a bit sorry for Jennings. Clearly just out of his depth.

Surely that's the end for him though.

Hes a typical county cricketer lack of personality.. Vince is the same.. You watch the body language and its very docile. You need to be positive with everything. Jennings may have more than hes shown. But his lack of being positive cost him his wicket there.

Shame Jason Roy hasn't stepped up from white ball cricket...he's unplayable at times

Neo, he will never improve his game. If he ever came back. The opposition will bowl the same line and length and he wont be able to get the ball off the square. Hes old enough to understand his game now. Hes just not up to the standard required.

Jennings doesn't even have that good a county record

Another player who is far too loose outside off stump to ever be a test player, he never even plays county cricket for Surrey nowadays.

I’d personally give Hales another go in the side but lower down the order at 5 or 5. Also find it strange that Hildreth has never been given a chance in the side.

Hildreth not being given a chance is a joke.

Burns has to come in now at the top. Ideally there's a right hander to partner him. James, Livingstone, Pope all options in the middle order. James could be a decent 3, he likes batting there and does now for England in odi cricket

Wish I had booked tomorrow off work now, didn’t want to just in case this was another three day test but tomorrow will be a very good day of play.

Ground is going to empty it seems, tickets from £30 and £1 for kids..

Don't think Moeen is a test match number 3.

So, for the Ashes next summer, we are likely to have a completely different top 3....

I mean, let's be fair. Stoneman is MUCH better than Jennings. Not good enough for Tests either, but saying he's as bad as Jennings is very unfair.

How's stat?!
Here's a damning indictment of Keaton Jennings' form, courtesy of Cricviz. Five of Jennings' nine dismissals this series have been LBW or bowled. Against balls from the seamers which would have hit the stumps, he's averaged 1.33.

Ouch!

Jennings should be used as a measure of badness henceforth.

which is actually probably a sign of what another poster said recently about his inability to score runs on the leg side. most players would score more than that in leg glances alone.

Only 22 wickets have fallen after 3 days so it's good to see both teams looking to apply themselves in this test. England could still collapse badly as they showed in the first innings but they've got a few runs on the board already. Anything above 250 to chase will be tough.

England should win this test match, they only need 100 more runs I believe.

Pitch will start to turn more, rough patch outside right handers off stump for Moeen too.

fair shout that.....don't expect anything other than a 4-1 series win

Anyone know roughly what time cooky will get his century... gona try and leave work on time for the final
Runs. Probably an hour after lunch?

posted on 10/9/18

I would be surprised if we don't win this one, to be honest. 4-1 will be a very flattering series result given our batting deficiencies. India have only really impressed (Kohli aside) in the bowling department on the whole, but then again so have we. It's been pretty even really, so 4-1 definitely isn't reflective of the balance of the series. That said, given that Tests never go the full 5 days nowadays, I suppose there has to be a result one way or another in each match. So it was never going to be a close-run 2-1 series or anything like that.

Course India could very well surprise us today and skittle us quick-sharp. Assuming Kohli (again) bats well, he'll only need one or two decent partnerships to put some serious pressure on the chase.

Rob Key is slowly becoming my favourite sky commentator. Great sense of humour from him. Time to get rid of Gower and Botham.

If he stays in then yes, around that sort of time I would guess.
