Rooney for me.

one of the greatest performances against Cardiff was that.

Will need to show it over a whole season to even be in contention, not just a good performance against the mighty Cardiff.

Best in the world ?
Never has been, never will be.
Played well against relegation fodder though, so fair play.👍

and now that he has Sarri and a unselfish player like Giroud to play off, you stat nerds will finally get what you wanted, a big statistical season.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Said like stats are completely irrelevant. When you're talking about being the best at anything you need the stats in your favor. Messi or Ronaldo wouldn't have had the Ballon D'or to themselves the last 10 years if they averaged 15 goals a season.

Think the coverage of Hazard is fairly accurate tbh. He has the potential to be the best player in the world with a few aspects slightly lacking. But tbf one of them he's already looking better with this season, he's playing a bit more selfishly, which is very good

Salah > Hazard

I'm not though.

He'll end up scoring 20-25 goals this season in all competitions.

He's the nest dribbler in the league but not close to being the best player in the world. Messi and Ronaldo are comfortably better than him. And in the PL, he is behind KDB, Aguero and Salah. He's at a similar level as a player to Mane but his ability as a dribbler makes him appear better.

If his natural instinct was to keep pushing forward rather than cutting back when on the attack he would do so much more damage to opposition but until he proves himself against his tendency to cut back he will not be in that Messi/Ronaldo bracket (even in their current levels).

He is without a doubt our best player and I hope he can improve that aspect of his game. Also, I hope/expect him to have his best season now that everything seems to be just right (into his prime, fully healthy and ultimately an attack-minded coach which should mean he'll have the ball in dangerous areas of the park more often than at any other point.)

No he isn’t. He is just as good as those guys.

He's behind Salah. Salah and De Gea are the best players in the league.

Salah is the 3rd best player in the Liverpool front 3.

Only people who look at goal tally will think he's better than Firmino and Mane.

Salah has had one amazing season. Needs a few more and certainly over admittedly just 5 games so far, Hazard is playing better than Salah. With KDB our injured that leaves Silva and Silva as his nearest challengers so far.

Salah is comfortably better than both those guys. If anything, Salah makes them look better.

Salah is a good player and he had a nice goalscoring season but no unbiased knowledgeable football fan will put him in the same tier as Hazard. They are on completely different levels.

Salah is Cavani tier, Hazard is on another level.

Kane, Silva and Eriksen are also in that top tier list.

What was it that Madrid reputedly offered for him ? I seem to remember figures thrown over 200 mill Euros for him. Don't think any others been offered those numbers yet?

posted on 17/9/18

Rumours were that Madrid were willing to pay £130m for him. Next summer we'll be lucky to get half that if he doesn't sign a contract extension.

Salah scored like triple the number of goals Hazard scored last season ffs. They're not even comparable.

I realise the Media numbers are almost all unreliable, but pre transfer close several offers reported at 200 and 220M , over the Neymar numbers.

These at least are an indication of his worth.

According to Erik's logic Darren Bent was better than Bergkamp and Drogba

As the OP quite clearly mentioned, with the right manager the scenario changes. eg with Mourinho Salah was at best a bench player. Change the system and rediscover the value. It worked for both players to reveal their true values, so far Hazard is out there on his own.
