According to some of you guys, he was pretty much solely responsible for winning the title in 2017.
Think Diego Costa might have something to say about that.🤔

We were barely creating any chances and conceding loads, had it not been for Hazard and Courtois the title would have been blown, simple as that. As for Matic, he hasn't been the same ever since he got humiliated at White Hart Lane.

16/17 wasn't as extreme, but we dropped of after February and it was mainly Hazard and Kante driving us forward.

Because he wasn't scoring much even when playing further forward, so by your logic he wasn't "that good", where-as anyone who knew anything about the game would know he was wonderful.

He wasn't that good back then. he only became a top player when he moved into midfield in 11/12 because that's the position that suited him. he didn't score enough to be a forward. He's a creative midfielder and that's the position where he's a top player.

Courtois was no where near a key player that season. OK, he may have made some important saves, but he's a goalkeeper, you expect your goalkeeper to make one or two big saves a season. That doesn't equate to them carrying the team. Terry, Azpi, Ivanovic, Matic and Hazard were all more important than Courtois.

And Hazard and Kante never carried any team. They were the best players, but they weren't carrying anyone. I agree that Costa wasn't good in the second half of that season, but everyone else was fine. Hilarious that you crticise Pedro, his amazing goal at Everton was one of the big moments towards the end of that season. Matic as well was rock solid, hence why we struggled last season when he replaced him with Bakayoko.
