This is often where debates get to with TOOR, he does not understand this simple point.

Two people can watch the same incident (supposed foul) and disagree. Neither need necessarily be wrong.

TOOR, until you understand that, you’ll forever be labelled an idiot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I never said people can't disagree. I said it was a foul. The referee agreed and gave the penalty. They reviewed it and agreed. Simple.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You said that if Salah has stayed on his feet and the referee had concluded that it wasn’t a foul he’d be wrong.

So now you’ve contradicted yourself.

Lovely stuff.

‘A player knows he has been fouled’

What if the referee disagrees?

Does TOOR have the deciding vote?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Then he doesn't get the foul. Obviously. In this case he did, they reviewed it and judged it was a foul and therefore no punishment for Salah. And yet here you are arguing it. Typical Winston.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That’s not how the retrospective panel works actually.

So if the referee disagrees then how can Salah ‘know’ he has been fouled?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A foul is a foul whether the referee gets it right or not. Wow.

‘Of course he knows he’s been fouled otherwise he wouldn’t go down’

TOOR taking stupid to a new level.

Ever heard of cheating, TOOR? You know some players feel contact and go down because they’re cheats, right?

Also, he cannot ‘know’ he’s been fouled. Because it’s a matter of opinion and the referee may not have seen that as a foul. That pull was not a foul in my view. It’s subjective. Therefore how can he know?

You really are stupid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
you can't pull a player back its against the rules

so he was fouled and had the right to go down, u just admitted he was pulled above.

Right Winston, you're gonna be here for a few days so I'll come back sporadically and pick apart your nonsense. Enjoy.

Winston

Whilst you’re pontificating what constitutes a good or bad day out. Haven’t you got anything better to do than argue on here all day about a foul that didn’t affect your team and had no bearing on where United are in the league?

Actually, it is possible for a player to pull another and for it not to be deemed a foul.

Job done, you’ve proven you’ve no idea what you’re talking about.

Enjoy your fun night out.

Is this guy for real?

He thinks players don't know when they're fouled and laughs at others for being stupid.

Comedy gold.

the foul is that he pulled him back slightly after salah had went past him, sure it wouldnt make you flop to the floor but it impeded his progress (even if only a small amount he still impeded him), so thats the foul, not him falling to the floor

Sure there are plenty of times when they arent given, but they should be

Pulling an opponent would fall under this wouldn’t it?

“impedes an opponent with contact”

I think you’ll find that such a law refers to the extent / effect of contact.

If I ever so gently pulled your shirt, so slightly that you don’t even notice, it’s not a foul is it?

Extreme example, but proves it’s possible to ‘pull’ someone and not foul them.

It’s for this reason that subjectivity is important.

I don’t believe the pull on Salah impeded him. But it’s hard to tell because he dived to the floor.

but he didnt notice it, ever so slightly, you can see him shake his arm to try get away from him

The point I’m getting at is that just because there was contact by the way of a pull, does not mean that the referee is obliged to decide that it constituted a foul.

posted on 28/12/18

Its up to him, he judged it to have impeded salah, even if only a small bit, seen things like that given in the middle of a pitch a fair bit

It is up to him.

Which is why diving to the floor to make out that the contact was more severe than it actually was is cheating.

How can the referee make a fair decision when the contact appears to be stronger than it actually was?

No it doesn't.

Severity is irrelevant.

Read the rules. There is no rule that introduces severity of contact.

Great argument.

So answer then. What a shock.

Whether it’s a foul depends on the incident. My opinion is that the idea Salah was fouled is laughable.

No TOOR, I don’t think it was a foul.

And judging by much of what I’ve read online, nor do many people outside the deluded Liverpool fraternity.

Most people are laughing at the decision from what I can tell.
