Herrera all day long. Henderson is no more than a carthorse who prances about barking out orders. His ability with the ball has little to be desired and he has a bad gait to boot.

Plus he sounds and looks thick

No you're digressing and this pap here;
"Taking a team's current performance and using that to suggest an average player has a better chance of starting at United than they do at Liverpool is ridiculous."
Was never actually said.
Can you name ten sides better than Liverpool or not? It's that simple.
You don't continually start for and captain a side of that quality if you're average, rubbish or any of the other know nothing hyperbole mentioned on this thread.
Some days Henderson plays better, some days Herrera plays better.

I'm taking what you said and trying to apply that in real terms. It makes no sense.
What has Liverpool currently performing better got to do with a comparison with Henderson and Hererra as players?
"You don't continually start for and captain a side of that quality if you're average, rubbish or any of the other know nothing hyperbole mentioned on this thread."
Oh and well done on the strawman
Because he's integral to it which is why he starts and captains us. Herrera has been in and out of a bang average side for years.
Herrera has been in and out of a bang average side for years.

Maybe Herrera being in and out is a reason why we were average.
Robbing_Hoody - as a rule I don't trust a man who doesn't drink but I do trust James Milner (U6374)
Herrera has been in and out of a side managed by Jose.
As far as I'm concerned, under any progressive manager like Klopp, Pep, Poch - you'll see him be a mainstay in that midfield.
It's not a credible basis for judging one player over another imo.
There have been lots of players over the years who regularly play in top sides but wouldn't be considered even close to the best in their position.
Herrera is top drawer and loved by most of the United fans I know.
Henderson on the other hand is a workhorse who is not rated by many of the Liverpool fans I know.

Henderson head and shoulders above Herrara who doesnt actually do anything but run around. Average at a load of things, excellent at nothing. Hence why he doesnt play for his country.

Thought you were talking about Henderson when you said 'doesnt actually do anything but run around. Average at a load of things, excellent at nothing.'
I don't see how anyone can say Henderson who is basically a "Forrest Gump" footballer is anywhere near the level of Herrera, a technically gifted midfield Dynamo

Yeah and maybe the only reason Herrera gets a game in the first place is because he's been up against Fred ànd Fellaini.

Just imagine if Liverpool had Alonso and Mascherano behind the current front three. Having enjoyed a world class midfield, I'm a little surprised that they go so overboard about Henderson.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is anyone going overboard though? Because I'm not seeing it if they are. Haven't seen anyone suggest Henderson is amazing or at the level of Alonso/Masch but neither is he anywhere near as bad as some would suggest.
There is middle ground here, he's a very good footballer who seems to be unfairly derided by some.

What the f*ck is Henderson excellent at and just say to all Herrera does in run around really shows your lack of football knowledge, wasted my time putting this on the Liverpool board aswell.

Why would I say that about Henderson when hes excellent at some things? Passing excellent. Leadership excellent. Tactically excellent hence filling in many positions where he's needed. Reading of the game excellent. Herrera runs around a lot. There's a reason one captains one of the best clubs in Europe and starts and has captained his country, whilst the other doesn't. Being a Liverpool player and not a United one doesnt take this reason away.
Henderson's time on the field roughly breaks down as
80% running in a straight line
10% kicking the opposition
10% barking at the opponent when they are too quick for him to get a kick in
There'sOnlyOneReds (U1721)
Yes, the reason is Henderson is English and Herrera is Spanish.
Herrera is an excellent leader, breaks up play, chipped in with a few goals and asssits, Henderson excellent I thought some Liverpool fans weren't biased but you've proven that's not true because you comment on our board a lot but today you've looked very biased.
As said slating Henderson really is a bit of a litmus test for who understands the game. Maybe all his managers just play him for bantz.
Superb last night as he has been many times against European heavyweight teams.
Good luck in Paris lads.

So Herrera doesn't start for a worse team and that's a reason? Err OK.
You know when you're at the seaside eating fish and chips and there's some gull swirling around your head squawking away after a chip, that reminds me of Henderson when an opponent has the ball

He then gets the chip, plays a great pass to the more skillful seagull, who then craps on your head. Successful team move.
