Knowing GoT I won't put it past them to focus next week's episode on Cersci, Euron, Bronn, Yara, The Golden Company and Kings Landing and forget Winterfell altogether. The show has a really tricky habit of doing that, and boy will I be frustrated if they do

But yeah that was a very good episode. The calm before the storm episodes in any series are always great provided they grab the tension the characters are feeling, and they did a pretty good job of that in the second half of the episode.

My only big gripe with it, and I thought I'd be in the minority but apprantatly I'm not having seen the reactions online, was the Arya & Gendry scene. Sometimes just because a character would act a certain way in a certain situation doesn't mean the audience want to see it. Something about watching Arya in a xxx scene felt very unnecessary, was the first time in the entire series I was preying we didn't see b**bs

If Gendry rejected the advances, Arya made some sarcastic quip about him not being man enough for her, or you shouldn't f*** before a big fight, etc... and Gendry laughed it off as she walked away the scene would've worked SO much better!!!

I didn't hate episode 2 but if you only watched the last two minutes of it you'd pretty much know everything you needed to. Also Daenerys not batting an eyelid to the news that she's porking her nephew is weird. Getting used to that now though.

Dany will now try and kill Jon, Sana’a will rebel with the north against her, (after they all get their ass kicked and retreat). Cersei will meet them with her rebel army, and take them all to be executed the dragons will by dead or badly injured in the winter fell fight.

Jamie will kill his sister before thief are executed and take the throne.

Tbf her parents were married siblings. Guessing incęst just isn't a big deal for Targaryens.

Yeah pretty much agree. This was a final goodbye for some of the regulars.

Agree with Grey Worm is going.

I reckon Davos will be another. They all can't survive the white walkers.

Brienne looks nailed on as well.

Night king won’t be at winterfell. He’ll be marching south to kings landing to mess up cersies plan. Or that’s my guess. He hasn’t been shown this season and the whole bran “he’s coming after me” will fall fla on its face
--------------------------------------------------------
Can definitely see that happening. The entire episodes' a massacre, several die, crypts come to life, etc... but they win after Jon kills one of Castar's boys/NK's generals causing all dead to fall at once. That's when they realize this battle was just a distraction and the episode ends with The Night King on Viscerion approaching King's Landing with 100K walkers.

Would make strategic sense, and would be the third time this show's had a military commander deploy a bait and switch. The Night King takes King's Landing, he wins the war. Done. Finished. Over a million living in the city let alone dead in the ground.

That won’t happen..you guys don’t k is this show at all, they love punishing and killing the good guys and letting Cersei off, she will be on top right til the last moments. That means the night king won’t be near kings landing

With his army of dead he'll reach Kings Landing by episode 5.

Can't be too far to the King's bedroom from there?

Ep 6 could be a cracker!

Who says in that scenario Cersci dies straight away?

Cersei is the main bad guy, she’s will be there at the end, plotting and scheming. Mark my words...

Cersei is not bad.

I reckon she will pull some move at the end that will end up with a lot of bloodshed, before she is probably killed in a poetic and horrendous way. She will be there right til the end.

Not saying she won't be. In fact picture this scenario, she arrives at the end of episode 3 (or four) with the Golden Company preparing to pick off the survivors when Jamie or Tyrion tell her The Night King wasn't there. Cue shot of King's Landing, unguarded, with the Night King on Visceron melting the city - loses his army, gains a MUCH bigger one.

The point I'm getting at is Nick's comments about this upcoming Winterfell battle not appearing as it seems is most likely correct, the battle being a trojan horse to take King's Landing is just one possibility - has nothing to do with Cersci at all.

At some point in this series we'll learn The Night King's real motivations, and I'm willing to bet anything they'll be portrayed as good guys by the end (at which point they'll be vanished because as you said, GoT punishes the heroes lol).

ME, Im sad enough to be doing this for the whole series so far because if not the episode is ruined with spoilers via social media the day after before the 9pm showing.

There will be a few dead next episode and my guess is that Theon, Brienne, Tormund, Ed will go and either Grey Worm or Missandei

Maybe its me, but IT was very disappointing. At some points the dead are relentless and kill lots of people very fast but when they face the heroes somehow 2 or 3 can survive for a lot of time, given how the dead were portrayed everybody should have died. In the end the episode just create drama with cheap tricks to build the stage for a héro to appear out of nowhere to save someone without explanation or sense: the hound with Arya, Daenarys with Jon, Jorah with Daenarys and ultimately Arya with Bran; and PUM the White Walkers are gone just like that.

The battle is ok, the blood, the sequences, the adrenaline, it is exciting but to me it just doesnt make sense how all was told.
