About tactics though... Awful

Putting your catapults up on front lines, sending the dothrakinto thier deaths, not having much in the way of castle defences etc

So much thought went into The Lannisters and Starks battle and then we get this.

Both Dany & Jon are not good battle commanders yet the show continues to persist with them because they're one of the most loved characters

Sure the story is about them but they have their shine in other aspects of the stories.

If they were smart, Davos would've been drawing up tactics with Jorah. Hell even Tyrion did better in Blackwater. Why not give these characters screentime?

It's sad when you think about s3 & s4 and what the show is now. It could've staked a claim as the goat of tv series without many challengers. Sad really.

They did that just because they were so impressed with the actor, they thought she deserved a better send off. I’m ok with that, thought it was well done.

Jon Snow. Great fighter, dedicated warrior, probably the worst battle commander in TV history

He has previous, all it took was one baiting ploy and Ramsey tore his battleplan to pieces.

It’s not anything to do with that, it’s to do with power. It also shows that were either of them to end up on the iron throne, they have serious flaws too - both in their tactics and their arrogance.

Tyrion has failed a few times over the last two seasons, he was never going to be trusted with it. Dany having no advisors around her, the impact is she then flies off way before she’s supposed to and changes the entire defence.

The critique of sending in the Dothraki and how they were generally set up I agree with, don’t oversimplify some of the rest though.

Don't get me started on the fall of Tyrion's character. We'll be here all day.

One of the most intelligent and most charismatic men in Westeros and now he always looks like some bullies stole his lunch money. Character DEvelopment

It is literally all about Jon & Dany now...You all probably gonna cry tears of joy when both of them get to rule all of the seven kingdoms after defeating Cersei with minimal fuss.

Such a sweet loving ending to a glorious chick flick over the years.

In the books he'll probably be atleast competent, the show has just made him into an idiot so things happen

D&D wanted to do a Confederate show imagine the tactics they would use it that, they should be taken away from any battle scenes, they clearly lack any basic knowledge

I never liked Jon btw...such a bland character.

i blame martin, as soon as the shows went past the books its been meh dialouge and storylines (there has still be some cool moments but its not the same as the first 4 season)

Think it peaked with robbs storyline

Tbf to the show runners they've repeatedly emphasized that Jon accepts these leadership roles begrudgingly, so the character's probably aware he's as much of an idiot as he's made out to be. So the real culprits here it could be argued are those around him who make the mistake that a great fighter makes a great leader.

He's not that great of a fighter...has been saved several times.

The story is just written for him which is why he's so bland.

they are all idiots, nobody suggests a good plan when it comes to battles, jamie should have offered some tactical adive, or grey worm just somebody! also brienne has never been in a battle in her life yet gets command of the left? lool

same with brienne, shown to beat people who are sick and injured

Just a little imagination to be used for the battle you know. Only the fire lighting was creative. Then the music and tension building was good.

Arya's strike while it wowed...still felt meh because you felt that's it???

Jon's raw at the dragon was a nice comedic relief.

I agree via Jaime. If the series had of been longer they couldn't dedicated an entire episode to Jamie having to "prove himself" to Dany & Jon as being trusted enough to be their battle commander. Cos he was by far the best choice of everyone at their disposal.

He did get lured by robb that one time but hes clearly more competent that everyone else, he had the right idea when the lannisters fought the dothraki but drogon wrecked that. I expected to see some northern lords having input alot of them have battle experience, this show has just turned hollywood

Now i mention it robb would have had a smart battle plan

Yeah it's literally been wow factor after wow factor after they passed the books because GRRM's writing isn't there.

And people are soaking it up because you know...The Red Wedding was literally one of the greatest moments in TV history.

Again, it really isn’t, at least one of them will die before the end of the series and there’s plenty of other arcs still to be sorted. One of Jaime and Tyrion will kill Cersei as well. The whole GoT part of a song of ice and fire is related to how succession and bloodlines don’t lead to the right people.

It fashionable to moan about Game of Thrones now. Much cooler to prefer the books and initial seasons when it wasn't so popular.

Maybe it's something to do with the reduced quality
