Would be a good gesture,POV, but maybe open the floodgates?
Personally I'd like CFC to just go ahead and do it.
Aye I don't think that argument helps anyone pov.

I think there’s clearly a chance of that, but right now they’re offering nothing ath. I don’t know what a suitable amount is, and is money going to make things better? An apology should be the start, counselling next and some form of compensation.
I've never been too comfortable with the idea of monetary compensation for the victims of criminal acts.
This isn't a civil matter, it's criminal, and for me the criminals should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Holding an employer responsible is a dangerous road to go down, what next, should the families of criminals pay victims money?
Legally, employers are responsible for their employees and their actions at their place of work.
Celtic are treading a very fine line by claiming distance from the boys club which of course is a separate legal entity. Legally they are correct.
Morally? Not so. I only hope they are trying to gauge the extent of the damage done before offering redress which must at least include counselling, therapy and loss of earnings as a bare minimum.
Those that are convicted can help with the financial compensation. I still feel that at the very least, there’s a moral side of this that needs addressed.
If an employee murders someone, is the company to blame..?
here is the problem for celtic.
how many?
how much?
it could bankrupt them, they dont have man citys money.
i agree wholeheartedly. but i expect this is why.
The problem is there will be people who will inexplicably use this as a quick pay day and jump on the band wagon. That will be every clubs concern, not just Celtic’s.
I want Celtic to stop with the different entity pash, the boys club was widely known as being linked to us.
I think it should be handled on a case by case basis and help offered either financially or mentally to true victims of these beasts.
how do u know who is telling the truth tho.
a lonely boy who never told a soul, ashamed, fearful, kept it to himself all these years but has no evidence only to be told he is lying? all the fears u had as a kid justified because u kept it to yourself?
people who do it for a quick pay and havent suffered disgust me.

Hence why I said “actions at their place of work” as in whilst undertaking work duties.
For clarity.

That can always happen so there has to be some kind of evidence provided. Another ex member of the club verifying that the individual was singled out perhaps?
In so saying I can’t imagine many will say they were a victim and go through all the legalities and “embarrassment” (I know people shouldn’t but I believe they’re almost made to feel somehow responsible) just to make some money and be so much in the public eye.
I think the main difficulty is actually getting people to come forward.
But it could happen
As ginger said, the alternative is going through the courts, with the possibility of details being made more public. That might leave it open to some making false claims, but I would imagine there would be some filter process-interviews with people who would be aware of the pattern of abuse, etc.
There’s no ideal situation for dealing with this.
I don’t know if Celtic are maybe waiting until they know how many there is before trying to address it.
I wouldn't give city roo much credit for this. It's an easy one for them given their access to huge funds much of which are generated through abuse of basic human rights.

I know they they have access to far greater resources than we have, irrespective of their source.
It looks like the financial side is the main concern for the board just now. They’re kicking the can down the road.

The financial side has to be the main concern. This could bring down the whole club. I'm sure that there are some who hope that it does.
I imagine that’s the reason Celtic are being very coy over the whole subject.
I feel for the current board, they’re having to deal with a horrific and highly sensitive subject that they played no part in and are having to take all the criticism.

Exactly.
They'll get no criticism from me. A very tough situation.
I'm pretty sure that we'd do the same as City if we were in their situation. A good way for the Qataris to build some good will. Easy to pay for one abuse with multiple others. We're not in that situation.
Yeah I’d be slow to congratulate the owners of City whilst they advocate the basic violation of human rights.
