Robb you love Poch but how did someone who supposedly fail make 8 points up on Spurs lol. Also the main reason for our bad form isn't how OGS has set his team up its an incredible amount of chances missed. If anything we played better in the games we lost or drew under OGS than the games we won.
Mentally weak players. The main reason for our bad run of form is we got a keeper who can barely save a shot without it going in off a rebound and strikers who need 7 or 8 chances to score. Recipe for disaster.

You do realise my answer was in response to the OP claiming that United have displayed relegation type form over the last bunch of games?
Going by this logic, United displayed championship winning form before that over the course of MORE games.
This is unless of course you are over looking this logic when it's used to paint Ole in a negative light? I'll give you the benefit of the doubt because that would mean you have an agenda.

The problem is, Rob, that while your concerns are valid and there is fair reason for criticism, you dismiss any mitigating circumstances out of hand because you’ve already set your stall out, so it’s kind of futile discussing the issue with you.
I know the game you’re playing as it’s quite transparent. Just thought I’d make it clear for you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You all do the same to Robb. He has valid point but everyone attacks him because he's Robb.
Ole has shown he tactically inept and has no pedigree in running a massive club like United. Who are also run poorly on the footballing side.
Where's the trust in Ole coming from when he's won only 2 in 11 matches? That includes 2 relegated sides.

Its a faith based on nothing substantial whatsoever other than hope. I’ve been there with Moyes and learnt from it. It would seem people on here have abandoned everything they’ve learnt from previous failures and are suddenly blaming everyone but Ole.
It’s because he’s a club legend which is fair enough but when he inevitably fails next season and the fans finally turn against him just as they turned against another club legend in Rooney ( ‘he’s fat’ , ‘I’ll drive him to the airport’ ) then it will be a sad but predictable end to an underwhelming and unnecessary appointment.
All I want is a capable United manager and yet these same people call me a Liverpool fan or some kind of contrarian even thought my argument is coming from a good and logical place.

Everyone is attacking him because over the years we have become familiar with the pattern by which Robb makes a prediction and then digs in to defend his position, exhibiting bias confirmation aplenty and scarcity of intellectual caution. He's also disingenuous - in this thread portraying his critics as slavishly showing faith in Solskjaer when most of us are saying things very different from this. As BerbaKing says, he's not arguing in good faith. That's why people respond negatively.

But you had your heart set on poch despite there being nothing to indicate him wanting the job. Your initial narrative was against ole getting the job but you then started to change your mind when oles run continued culminating in the PSG game. Obviously you reverted back to your original stance given the form of the last couple of months
----------------------------------------------------------------------
People change their mind based on whats in front of them shocker.
Shoot him !!!
Fack me, changing your mind on this forum is never allowed. People always get attacked here for changing their mind. In normal live thats seen as a positive trait, people able to change opinion rather than sticking to it to death even if everything around them tells them they might have it wrong.

I just have massive doubts he has what it takes and really don’t understand where all this faith in him comes from
--------------------------------------
Where are these declarations of faith? Most of what I see is open-mindedness based on a recognition that Solskjaer hasn't had a chance to demonstrate much of what he can do with the club yet.
By contrast, Robb established on day one that he's judged against OGS a priori, without awaiting such evidence. Based purely on exactly the same internet logic of "player X can't be good because he plays in a weak league".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats just wrong, Robb was reserved about Ole and rather wanted Poch.
And the second part is also questionable, Ole had 5 months to demonstrate what he was capable off, and he has proven that he didnt have the capacity to change things around. He's in fact ended the last 11 matches worse than Mourinho.

But thats the thing, he wanted Poch had doubts about Ole. Ole performed well and Robb changed his mind started to back Ole. Results have now taken a nose dive and confirmed Robbs earlier opinion that Ole is not right for the job. Dont see a problem with that. People can change their mind. I am sure if Ole stays on and makes the right calls, gets the right players, and turn things around, Robb will back Ole. If he doesnt, then you have a point. At this moment you dont.

============
This is an overly simplistic take.
What many people have recognised and conceded is that Mourinho probably had a very good point when he said getting this lot to 2nd was a note-worthy achievement. Nobody much liked the way Mourinho went about publicly voicing his frustrations at his players, their performances, their attitudes and characters, but we've now seen the players revert to type once again under new management.
And remember, it's not just Ole. Phelan is there, too. Phelan is hugely respected at United, and he coached a great many of these players under Fergie.
Regardless of who the manager is, who his support staff are etc... We have to start recognising that this squad has a serious lack of genuine class and quality in all positions of the pitch, and the character and mentality of many of these players is arguable even worse than the playing ability. It really is a poor group.
The fact that many are able to say, "JM may have had a point here" is testament to the fact that many posters here are able to change their minds when more evidence and data presents itself.
When Ole has signed his own players, cleared out as many as the ones he doesn't want as possible and had some time to actually get *his* players operating in his way, then we can cast a more informed critical eye over proceedings.

Just left Old Trafford. The view of actual fans rather than internet attention seekers is that the players are poor. They’re correct. We have a serious lack of quality in the team - the fact our best player by a mile was a 17 year old says it all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Internet attention seekers 😂
It’s a managers job to get the best out of what he has and if you think our players are so bad that the manager gets excused for losing 8 games in 11 and is completely unconvincing in the wins and draws then you’re deluded
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny how you were willing to give Jose the benefit (as was I) of having taken over LVG's team and that was after spending big in his first transfer window. To be honest I used to enjoy your articles as if anything they created a debate, but the last year has been fairly self serving, I bit like Jose funny enough.
I'm happy to admit like a lot of people Poch was the outstanding candidate at the time of Jose's sacking but a lot has happened since then. Ole clawed us back into a top 4 race which we ran out of steam at the end. Poch has taken Spurs to CL whilst our club has been shown up for the mess that it really is. If Poch has the choice between us, staying at Spurs or Juve we are a distant 3rd if he knows what is good for his career.
Of course I'm not as convinced of Ole as I was while we were on the good run, but he's the manager now and deserves the backing of the fans, which he is getting. This is LVG all over again for you, your agenda was never really well hidden.

How does a tactically inept manager lead a team to their first title win in 100 years?
Whether he has what it takes to transfer that to a higher level league remains to be seen, but to say that he is tactically inept after taking over a squad that is unfit and having not made any signings.....well its a bit daft to be fair.

Go figure 🤷♂️

Never has the word 'logic' been so terribly butchered in the last few days.
Bring back Stretty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bless. The only argument you had is that list of tough games we played in a short space of time. Please add two relegated sides to that list of no wins. Any more excuses babes?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was not the only argument I had, as you well know. But this discussion isn’t on good faith, again, as you well know.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Basically this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You all do the same to Robb.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone is attacking him because over the years we have become familiar with the pattern by which Robb makes a prediction and then digs in to defend his position, exhibiting bias confirmation aplenty and scarcity of intellectual caution. He's also disingenuous - in this thread portraying his critics as slavishly showing faith in Solskjaer when most of us are saying things very different from this. As BerbaKing says, he's not arguing in good faith. That's why people respond negatively.

Also Jose wasn't going to get top 4 with these players this year, and he said so.

Ole had you in 4th place and you all said he proved Mourinho wrong. And then everything fell of a cliff and people's narrative changed again that now its the players and not the manager.

No against him just means against him getting the job nowhere did I infer you disliked him or wanted him to fail.

============
