It’s embarrassing in itself that they’re flooking on holiday at this time in the season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know. Mental. Right after the actual games have just ended, and before pre season.

That’s just bat schit crazy thinking.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Lawwell can take holidays anytime. The close season is when he is meant to be getting signings done, others out etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye but it’s cheaper just now, rather than waiting until the schools are out 😂

The CEO in charge of our transfer dealings on holiday when it’s most critical for us to get work done.

Like I said, embarrassing.

Nothing to see here though, it’ll be fine in a few weeks....
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think sometimes though folk look for stuff to get upset about.

‘we show our hand for a boy that Neil lennon wants in the door pronto’

Does he? I can’t remember-was he even on the list that everyone was going ape about the other day?! I can’t remember. So, to make your point seem better you’ve wrote that Lennon wants him in pronto-but we don’t know that.

Next, you’ve decided to believe that Lawwell has said to Motherwell just to keep us informed. An unsubstantiated source quoted for that. If it’s true, then Motherwell want £3 million for him. Do you think we should just wade in and pay that? £3 million for a 19 year old with one season under his belt at Motherwell.

And I imagine this is a fairly sensible time to go on holiday for Lawwell. He probably gets other days off during the year, but going on holiday when most players are on holiday, or involved in internationals, or when most clubs are at their quietest doesn’t really bother me.

I’m not saying you might not eventually be correct, but you’re basing it on what you want to believe. Albeit there’s a bit of a history there.

if this was isolated then i would think fine, but its not

lawwell's worst attributes are in regards to incoming transfers, he is slow, so f...ing slow, and imo it has costs us not only players, but champions league money as well.

him going on his holidays when we have qualifiers in a month isnt good enough sorry, he can go in august.

The boy Turnbull looks decent but his flurry of goals at the end of the season against bottom six teams seems to have given his value a real boost.

He wasn't great against us - not sure how he fared against celtic. Hes young and obviously decent but I would have thought he would be loaned out if celtic took him now.

£3m is feck all for bottom half EPL or top half Champioship teams though - so I can easily see one of them taking a punt on him now.

I’m basing it on what happens every transfer window ffs.

Happy clappers are every bit to blame for this mess.

"wit aboot eddie"

wit about him? we signed him and sold armstrong and dembele. then got 2 loans and free agent - after we had been parped out the champions league of course.

how do people miss the need for a bit of urgency before the qualifiers? i've not idea honestly.

I did acknowledge at the end that there is previous, but most of what you’ve said has no basis apart from unnamed quotes, speculation, and what you want to believe.

Given that Lennon has been in place for a while and was talking prior to being given the job permanently about what he's looking for in the summer, and given that Celtic seem to regularly have meetings about transfer targets, are you suggesting that Lennon just being appointed has meant Celtic have sat on their thumbs for the last few months and not worked on any transfer targets?

NL: Nah, I'm not permanent so I'll not bother

I imagine that he only truly discussed transfers and budgets when he sat down to agree his contract. He might have been involved in previous discussions about areas the team needs strengthened, possible targets, etc-but a fair bit has changed since that document was produced in April.

We no longer have Lee Congerton for example.

I think being made permanent manager would make a bit of a change.

For most of my nearly 40 years I've been the most negative and miserable person I know. This is a new experience for me. Not sure I like it.

Some of you lads on here make me look like the gey air traffic controller lad from Airplane. I'll be out in the street singing show tunes next

Mags, I'd pay cash money tae see you cracking a few show tunes out

Anything from West Side Story would be good

Our signing players record over the last few seasons has been poor, best described as "lethargic" imo?
