I kind of agree, as someone somewhere said. The hardest thing with transfers is you have to judge it at the moment you sign them and with the information that was available then.

I think Ndombele made a lot of sense, was perfect fit for Poch requirements and had spent the previous 12 months tearing through every team he/Lyon faced.

Gil just makes no sense at all, he was lightweight in La Liga and didn’t put up any metric that showed him being elite. The price we paid + if you include Lamela (unless you think we paid extra to release Lamela) is so high for someone who even at the time was worse than a Dwight McNeil. So odd

Ndombele wasn't bad at the time tbf. His wages, though. Whoever signed off on that needs shooting

I think they do, Bentancur and Maddison can cover some serious ground. Not as much as Sarr who is seriously good at that but definitely that level just below

Yeah point taken, for sure that midfield could work. Though it's dependent on Bissouma being in the kind of form he was at the start of the season. If he's losing the ball at all then you're better off with Bentancur who will definitely use it well, with Sarr to cover defensively and also turn up in the box/wing/at right back

Yeah, which is why I’d like to try that 3 first to see how good they could be. I do think part of the reason Bissouma’s form took a tumble is because Madders got injured so he felt he has to do more in possession and then got caught.

Changing the subject a bit, and this is aimed largely at Hengy too who is on top of the divisions below.

Everyone talks about Dorrington being this hot prospect right now, aren’t him and Devine similar players with Devine simply being considerably ahead of him? All this worrying about GLC cover within the youth team and Devine is the obvious next academy player to take the step up?
