So you wouldn’t have called great back then?
Yeah I dunno. Maybe, maybe not. I never thought of him as a proper top striker, though. So probably more maybe not
We’re in the hang tough part of the window, the season start is really creeping up now and we’re not making major moves to strengthen. I suspect there will be a flurry of late activity and new signings taking a while to integrate.
Part of me does wonder if a couple of the youngsters - Moore and Lankshear in particular have made us have second thoughts about spending big. Bergvall will want game time and Gray looks like he will be pushing for the 1st team already.
Everyone keeps talking about an attacker but the only position I feel we are 100% short in is the 4th CB - but again the plan might be to use Phillips.
So you do not consider Porro a CB?
We are very short in the midfield. Madison is past his prime by a long way. Hojbjerg is gone to a better club.
Who are you suggesting play in our midfield?
And yes,...we need a striker.
Looks like Aussieglue is getting hung out to dry!
Another day, another morning Ted has to change his sheets!
Time is a big factor now. Someone like Toney, if we are after him, will get cheaper as the window progresses as he's in the last year of his contract and wants to leave. Offer 30m + add-ons now and it will be turned down. Offer it in 3 weeks and it's a serious bid. As much as I hope we are not waiting for Gallagher, he is in the same situation.
Eze & Neto are not quite in the same place with their contracts but the clubs are asking a lot, and it would also seem that other big clubs are interested and both players want a big move.
The club have a duty to get the very best deals they can. Fans scoff at "not offering £5m more to get the deal done" but on the other hand they'll moan their ST has gone up £50.
Whatever our targets are, i am sure that there will have been contact, that situations will be being monitored and we will act when it is the best time for us to do so (in the interest of getting the best deal at the best time) or when we are forced to by others also acting. Others will do the same and react to our bids if they also want who we want.
The way we operate now, we seem to have several targets for each position, so the likelihood that the manager gets 'hung out to dry' is pretty slim

think he has someone to do that for him in the institute he resides
Letico in talks with Gallagher

WHO IS THEN?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not signing Gallagher and Chiesa will be like new signings
I think we may have walked away from Gallagher and spent the dosh on Gray - better technical player, only 18, same money, cheaper wages - If this is the case then i'm delighted.
I get the feeling that Chiesa is may be a 3rd choice in case we fail with Eze and or Neto.
The GLC + cash swap for that villa lad has gone quite, but not gone away totally.
Also linked heavily with the 20yo Fiorentina Michael LB Kayode.
All total guesswork on my behalf
Kayode is a RB isnt he
yeah i didnt necessarily want Gallagher or Chiesa just not really sure what our targets are, as Ange eluded too us being in the dark about transfers in that interview and assured us theyre working on it
Jonathan David has to be our main target…

Yep, Eze is the number one target.
Ivan Poney or Jonathan David IF Richy goes
Otherwise a CM
Rumour is Spence is back in favour, so I think he will be the back up next year.
If we brought in Eze and Ramsey from here then I think we’ve had a good window. The real excitement this year is the youngsters - Moore, Gray, Bergvall and possibly Lankshear and much slighter possibility Devine. How many of those can establish themselves? Gray looks a certainty, Moore and Bergvall look very likely. Lankshear - think a loan would do him well. Devine - I’d like to see him given a run, but I also don’t want Ange rotating us out of winnable comps.
Most excited I have been about a season in ages - think we have some gems on our hands and if Eze comes we will be looking strong
Sizzle gone to Lanzarote for the Sun ๐
Spurs will sign ONE more player in attack.
@FabrizioRomano
Hope its a Neto type and not Eze.
One more left back cover would be good.

One attacking player to go with Werner is not great. At least on paper. Have to hope some players step up from last season. I'm looking at Kulu more than anyone.
Santiago been sold to Elche
serious club would have no got werner again on loan and signed two players in attack
Which two attacking players would you have got instead of Werner?
Think it’ll only be 1 attacking player on the basis we don’t sell Richarlison
It's becoming obvious we are not upgrading midfield, so definitely need 2 up front
Toney, Solanke, Eze, Neto, Gyökeres, David, Grealish
