I think Ange said he was happy with his options at cb in a presser

Yeah he likes Davies. Great pro and good player but not a CB or LB in our current set up

Gray will be used at CB in emergency, Ange has said previously he can play there.

Some people think we should have a direct replacement for every specific position in the squad

Some people have forgotten who we support

We ain’t Man City paying loads of dosh to keep quality on the bench happy

Personally I think Davies is quality LCB on the bench but appreciate that isn't a view Ange holds

He wasn't fault for many goals last season when vVD was injured and had a chit partner in Emerson.

Drag (or anyone else) is a major upgrade on Emerson so he should do better but hard to predict how good or bad they will be. For the Ropey group games they might be good enough?

I can't remember how many games they played, but Emerson and Davies did do very well when they played as a cb pair.

They had one good game vs city away tbf

Can’t remember any others but I think in games we were expected to win and one or both of them had to play in defence we really struggled with the drop off in quality on the ball especially
