6/10 for me. No left footed defender could be a big miss
----------------------------------------------------------------------
6 is about fair. No back up keeper either. The youngsters we've bought look promising though. This window was always more about shifting out the deadwood and we've done most of that. We could have sold Richarlison for decent money but he didn't want to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would promote Lankshear ahead of him even when he does return. Try and get rid in Jan or next summer. Too weak.

I'd be prepared to give Richy some chances cause he did alright last season and at least showed improvement. But yes I want to see Lankshear get games too. Thankfully a lot more opportunity to give run outs this season. Europa is an ideal setting for it really.

No CBs available that are suitable does not equal no CBs in the world. Also, in terms of having super promising youth CBs coming in, that makes sense yeah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s going to be 17 (I think, maybe 18)
So what about Ashley Phillips?
We can’t use our data model and scouts to find a CB to come in as cover? That’s negligence.
Super Promising Youth FC🤣
Just got to pray we don’t have have to play Ben Davies. Great pro etc but not defending on the halfway line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You not understanding or agreeing with what they're doing does not mean they're negligent. That's ignorance
Ange being as good as he is with the media lets Levy off the hook. I don’t think anyone can describe our lack of cover on the left hand side of defence as anything other than negligence, yet Ange comes out and publicly explains why. All of that makes sense to a certain degree but if you’re looking to make it easier for younger players to come through, maybe apply that in the season they’re there, not the one just before it. We get an injury to VDV or Udogie now, and we will given the physical demands on their style of play, and we’re screwed. Ange is making excuses built on something he knows is flimsy. At least Conte called it how it is. He was a massive cvnt who played awful football but at least he exposed the owners. This just lets them off the hook. Part of me will enjoy the injuries when they do come because it’ll once again put Levy front and centre as the man that let the team down when it mattered.
We will go nowhere under ENIC. Absolutely nowhere. Staveley and her Middle Eastern, morally corrupt oil men can’t come soon enough. Solanke and a bunch of teenagers. That’s just not good enough, particularly when you factor in that Bergvall was signed in January, not this summer.
Highest ticket prices in the league. Let that sink in.

i agree...keeping Richi (who did well when fit) for another season will give Lankshear the chance to settle in the first team squad and may be 2nd choice next season. Timing could be quite good but Lanks does need to get some actual game time.
Trouble is its quite hard to fit him on the bench, and Moore. Even with Solanky & Richi missing, there's no place for either kid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Let’s just see how all this plays out before you turn up with cocky takes like this. City have goals everywhere in their front line and they got a great offer at a time when they’re likely to need a lot of club generated capital facing the 115 charges. We had one of the worst defences in the league without VDV and Udogie last year. To compare the two is frankly childish.
Like I say, we’re about to enter a season competing on 4 fronts with a shiiitload of games with a smaller squad than we had last year, so let’s see how all this unfolds. I’ll remind you of this chat when we’re exposed for being short in certain areas and our season unravels.
It's not cocky. It's reality
Also if you're lining up 'told you sos' for when our club is going through bad times you're a priiick
Is it a smaller squad than last season?
I'm giving it a 6/10. It's not like I'm sitting here saying we done fantastic. But all this crying about negligence cos you didn't get a big name or the striker you wanted or a left back is just way OTT. It's a bit disappointing yeah but there's plenty of good there, players to be excited about, and we've shifted basically all of the deadwood

You really can’t compare the two. City are in a superb position with awesome players with the full knowledge that they’ve previously won the league at a canter with a false nine. If Haaland is out, they’ll just do the same again.
We’re heading into a crucial second season for a manager, who has now had the time to assess his squad and discover his needs. I don’t believe that his request was Solanke and a bunch of teenagers. I just don’t. He’s happy to crack on that way because he’s more of a yes man than conte was.
I’m not lining up told you so’s. It’s not cocky. It’s reality.
Face it, you only think it's cocky cos it's right. Calling it negligent is just hyperbole.

4/10 for me.
Good we shifted lots of “deadwood” but we’ve also collected more “deadwood” in Ange’s tenure.
I’m happy with Solanke because we needed a striker but we’re shopping at Bournemouth. Look what happened when we bought a bottom-half striker in Richy. I think Solanke is a massive gamble.
Yang
Gray
Odobert
Werner
That’s a Fulham-level window.
End of the day, we bought one first team player.
I want the football club to show ambition. Ange was gobbing-off about winning mentalities and second-season trophy chases.
What is the ambition at Spurs? What do they want to achieve?
For me, this window has shown they want to do the bare minimum to get some sort of European football. We’re not getting 4th place so a Top6 finish is the ambition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We'd have had to spend an awful lot to sign more outright 1st team players. Look at what we paid just to bring in a striker who can go straight into the team. I know we overpaid but it was never going to be cheap.
With how last season unfolded anyway, not sure Ange was ever going to get backed quite the same. As it is we've still spent a fair bit.
Apart from 2 or 3 spots, when everyone is fit and in form, there isn't that much to improve on in the first team. Back line speaks for itself, Maddison and Son get in. Therefore you're left with the left wing and central midfield. Now if Kulu can get back to being good, that sorts out a spot. Then there is potential in midfield for players to make it their own between what we have. I'm sure that was the hope when we signed all these youngsters.
I’m not lining up told you so’s
---
That is exactly what you're doing
5/10 which is disappointing due to the potential off it able to been a 8 or 9.
We should’ve got a established winger with so many being available this summer and I think one of the reasons we didn’t was due to commuting to Werner so early.
IMO this summer turned from a window for now to a window for the future which as spurs fans we’ve had so many of these and the future never turns up.
Out goings we had to be ruthless and I’m happy we was. We did a great job imo
