I think regardless of how well these young lads do, it’s still a stain on the owners that the overall outlay is probably offset by player sales and the huge sums saved in wages. When all the figures are considered, I’d say we’re massively in profit. They might storm it but you can’t deny that the priority is still the balance sheet over the pitch.
For all Chelsea’s failures, the one thing you can’t accuse them of is lacking ambition. They’re tearing the leagues finances apart, such is their thirst for success. It just would be nice to have an owner that occasionally fecks up by overspending because although it means we’ve made a mistakes, it does send a message that there’s a clear ambition at board level. We’ve never seen that from Levy, ever. He’s great at running the club but it’s that very skillset that makes him such an unambitious owner. Well run, very sustainable but not willing to gamble to get to the next level.
I’m done with him now. Had enough.

wtf is ambition though? Spending money doesn’t always equal success United and Chelsea of recent seasons have been examples of this
posted 2 weeks, 6 days ago
The trophies they have won have been of over time recent success not their ‘ambition’ in the market
People forget that luck etc all play a part
I know you make your own luck and not saying we have earned any of made use of ours

I don’t even mean getting deals right. I just mean really meaning business in the market or at least trying harder. Going deep into that allowance we have to overspend. Taking a chance a bit. The reason I say it is because although it might be foolhardy, it would be a signal of intent and a clear message to the fans that the owners want exactly what the fans want. I think it’s that lack alignment in priorities between fans and owners that causes such an issue. I’ve no doubt Levy would like success, but he will not, and has even stated this publicly, put the club in any kind of debt striving for it. I get that logic, particularly if you own the club, but I’ve no doubt that real fans would make crazy decisions in search of success. I’d rather see a glimpse of that disarray than have to watch this careful, distant figure out profit before success.

It’s a turn of phrase. If you took it literally then I’m afraid it says more about your inability to interpret emotion. Maybe wanna get that checked out.

Chelsea getting Sancho just a joke though. They got so many great winger but I’d still be gutted if we below them.

Holy shiiit! Obligation on Jadon Sancho is only 25m. We should have made an approach. That’s crazy. I get his wages are an issue but still, Chelsea pay less than we do on wages these days I think.

I dunno about sancho but Chelsea don’t even need him
All they need is less players and some cohesion
