No more deficit for more than a year now. (I assume you are not confusing national debt with deficit).
No doubt, next Labour govt will come and reverse all the gains made so far and blow the deficit wide open again.

All the brexiteers sticking to Boris and voting him in, like a glue, the man who lied to them about the £320m sent to Europe every week and they are STILL voting for him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gross amount sent to the EU is around £376m/week. Net is more than £220m every week.
And you don't see anything wrong with this?

What do we get in return? Trade. For which we even have a huge deficit with the bloc.

Just can't understand how Remainers think.
It's like they don't love this country and would rather see it destroyed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The country is being destroyed now with the extreme Brexiteers calling the shots. You reap what you sow. Still waiting for Brexiteers to let us all know how it is going to pan out. They are completely clueless.

The SNP hate the English so for them to call anybody racist is laughable. When does that odious toad Salmond go on trial?

Glad Javids gone I think we've all heard enough of the bus driver stuff and Rory was as mad as a lorry. I like my leaders to be male, middle aged and from privileged backgrounds.

the most bizarre thing about brexit, is that people have more affinity towards the eu than their own countries
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think the most bizarre thing is that people would rather quit the EU than use our influence to try and reform from within.

Brexit is simply undeliverable. They should have had a clear plan before the Referendum was even called, and they didn`t. For the extreme Brexiteers to just say leave on a No Deal is a complete cop out, and absolutely no way will it get any backing in Parliament. And let`s be fair the Brexiteers spent months going on about handing back power to our own Parliament, so that is one thing they have got, and yet they are still grizzling.

Brexit was, is, will always be a complete joke. Pandering to the right wing of the Tory Party has landed the whole country in the mess it is is now. This mess will go on for years, with a devastating affect on the country.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Again I repeat: if the current parliament fails to deliver Brexit, they will be replaced with those who can get the job done.

Many of you who say Brexit is undeliverable have fallen victims of the project fear.

Less than 9% of UK businesses trade with the EU. Worst case scenario means only these companies will be affected. And the govt. could take actions to ease the financial pains suffered by these companies in the short term(from the £39bn divorce bill).

It’s a racist fantasy Sandy.

For the rich elite, like Farage & Rees Mug it’s about tax avoidance, but for everybody else it was about kicking foreigners out of the country.

Already over 100,000 job vacancies in the NHS, don’t look like Gary Gammon will be filling any of those any time soon.

You might be in for a shock. The man was elected mayor of London twice despite the place being over run by moronic lefties. He's extremely intelligent and has always polled will with the working class and those right of centre.
Despite this forum being full of SJWs and socialists the majority of the country is still Conservative, and I mean actually Conservative not Rory "cucky lib dem" Conservative. I think he'll be a huge success despite the nonsense the left wing papers and media will throw at him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you.
Londoners are so up their arris they can't see the trees for the woods.

Any party that delivers Brexit will have a comfortable majority at the next general election.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Therin lies the problem. As things stand Brexit is undeliverable.

If it ever does occur, as set out in the WA the UK will still be aligned with practically all of the EU aquis, and customs policy.

But without a voice/influence in shaping the regulatory framework it is bound by.

Not quite taking back control.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To you it is undeliverable because you refuse to accept the democratic wish of the majority.

If the current parliament fails to deliver Brexit, they will be replaced by those who will get the job done.

You make it sound like this is one 3rd rate country that is unable to govern itselt.

We will still trade with the EU. But we don't want to belong to their political union.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trade on worse terms with our biggest market.

Stunning idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We can agree zero tariff with the EU while trade negotiation is ongoing. This is allowed by the WTO.

Its like you guys just throw in the towel at the slightest sign of difficulty.
This country did not become great by accident.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is undeliverable because no-one (bar a select few) gave any thought to NI/Ireland.

It is impossible to maintain Strand 2 of the GFA and have NI and ROI in two separate regulatory and customs entities.

Of course the headbangers will refer to tech (that has yet to be invented etc and impossible as per no infrastructure commitments by both parties) but when they are challenged by details and specifics (for three years now) they have no answers. Because there aren't any.

And if tech (alternative arrangements, Malthouse etc etc) were in any way achievable, there would be no need for the backstop protocol the headbangers are so adverse to.

That WTO rule only comes into effect if we're way along such negotiations. As it stands, we'd have to wait a few years for that, and that's if EU want to open negotiations straight away.

Some misunderstanding in regard to the WTO.

All developed countries (164 members) already trade under their WTO commitments. They are the absolute baseline. Countries come together to negotiate to enhance their trading relationships (improve on their baseline WTO obligations).

The principle obligation of WTO obligations is MFN (non-discriminatory). Which means if (outside a free trade area/preferential trading relationship) a country treats another member in a certain way (say waives tariffs) it has to do so for all other WTO members.

Which is where the Brexiteer cheaper produce outside of the EU falls apart.
