Mentioning Roots Captaincy. hes weak as water when it comes to his own position. he bats 4 he has to bat 3. he goes back to 4 he goes back to 3.. etc

I think he needs a lot more consistent first class runs. Promising youngster who has clearly leaned more towards t20 recently. Talented for sure though. Wasn't it him and Ben Duckett who were meant to break through together as the next big opening pair?

5. Dan Lawrence
6. Ben Brown

You seen that Langer has denied Steve Smith was mocking Jack Leach with the Aussie celebrations after the last test:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.skysports.com/amp/cricket/news/12123/11806381/ashes-2019-justin-langer-denies-steve-smith-was-mocking-jack-leach-during-victory-celebration
I hate losing to these cheating caaants
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2019/09/09/australia-mock-defeated-england-song-easy-ashes-triumph/
Pieterson said leach had turned into a bit of a joke as well, felt he hadn't done enough with the ball and the people in the stand were more talking the p out of him with those wigs
KP is spot on. Can't be nice for Leach to be regarded as this joke figure. He is a newbie trying to make his mark and the last thing you need is a couple of 7 year olds in stands thinking it funny to mock him. (i did laugh when i saw that though).
I think KP is a bit out of order tbh. Leach hasn’t asked for all the masks and the specs from the crowd. All he did was react the run he scored at Headingley for a laugh. Nothing wrong with that. I’m way more annoyed with him for the no ball wicket on Smith.
Leach has no control over what the crowd do.
Yeah think KP is talking out his @rse (no surprise there) given Leach has taken more wickets than Lyon since he came into the side.
As for England, they've dropped Overton and Roy for Curran and Woakes as Stokes can't bowl. Guessing Curran will bat 6 but no idea what the order will be.
I love KP and he's a legend. He is a little out of order but he's still the best.
otally unnecessary from KP, but if anyone was gonna come out with something like that, it's him. He needlessly said similar about James Taylor, and of course back-stabbed Strauss.
In conclusion, he's an arrogant, obnoxious be11 end.
Presumably then
1. Burns
2. Denly
3. Root/Stokes
4. Stokes/Root
5. Bairstow
6. Buttler
7. Curran
8. Woakes
9. Archer
10. Broad
11. Leach
What a truly woeful top 6. Bairstow and Buttler on horrible form? Move them up the order! Stokes finally looking like he's found the right batting position? Move him up the order! Roy not scoring any runs? Drop him and bring in a bowler in his place!
If the above is the order, then the only two bats who (a) should be playing and (b) are batting where they should be are Burns and Root (if he's at 4). If Root is at 3, then that means one - ONE - of our specialist bats is in his best position.
The mind boggles, truly it does

One of two things will happen
Either these two fail with the bat...and everyone says why did we retain them....or they both make big scores and everyone says...yeah they're fine when the ashes pressure is off
Either way we are not learning anything new - are we
Overton dropped lol, what was the point of him in the 1st place. He performed better with the bat than the ball lol.
Woakes recalled, Root going to use him sparingly again?
Curran for Roy is hardly like for like, surely someone like Pope would have been a better fit. Anyway it took them long enough to realise Roy isn't a test match player.
Yeah I'm happy with Roy being dropped but the decision making to do it now is just baffling. We move him down the order so he can score more runs than opening, which he then does do, then he gets dropped anyway.
So if the only thing that would stop him being dropped was a 50/100, why would we move the batting order around to accommodate him, especially after Denly played well at 4 in the previous game.
England batsmen have been getting out the same way, do none of them work on their weaknesses?
Apart from Burns who struggled outside the off stump vs Ireland worked on his game and has looked the most accomplished player. Aus have troubled him with the short ball but you can see he is at least making adjustments to counter it.

Exactly. It ought to have been no changes (on the premise that it's Bayliss' last test in charge and the new coach will want a fresh start rather than blooding a youngster who might be dropped again straight away)... or it should have been wholesale changes to try something new.
Bairstow and Buttler appear to be absolutely bulletproof with the selectors. Don't get me wrong, I love Jos Buttler (not Bairstow, arrogant prat) but he shouldn't be in the side.
