He got injured - stress fracture in his back, I think - which meant he lost his place. I think by the time he was fit again, others - like Woakes, Sam Curran, Archer, Wood - had jumped ahead of him again.
He was good but I don't think he's recaptured his form since his injuries, even in Div2. I haven't paid attention to Middlesex since they were relegated though.
Yeah injuries got the better of TRJ. Think Overton who is a very similar style of bowler will always be preferred.
Solid day so far. Shame it was Sibley instead of Crawley who went but hopefully Crawley impresses nonetheless, don't want to see Jennings in an England shirt again.
Dreadful run rate here from England.....really need to pick this up

quite refreshing to be honest. rather this than be scoring 4 an over but be 4 or 5 wickets down already.

Well there is that.... still think they need to pick it up a bit
What a catch... same leg side one as well
yeah middle order are the ones who score quicker which is how it should be, just cant afford them to give away their wicket like usual though
shame no HC for crawley, he will have plenty in the future im sure

Seems like he's growing into it - hopefully he keeps getting better like Sibley and Burns have
Frustrating stuts and starts here again. Hopefully the middle order can cash in on what the tops order have done though.

Amazing how quickly people turn on this team for trying to occupy the crease and bat time. Almost wanting to go back to the Bayliss approach. We're doing the right thing but just not quite executing it. Need at least one of the top 3 to make a big score to build around.
Reckon we’re gonna scratch to 280/290

Judging how the pitch is behaving then that could be a useful first innings score. Seems to be quite a bit of turn already.
Sounds like the pitch is a lot more difficult to bat on than first thought, if we can get 300 odd it'd probably be a good score
Ollie Pope is different gravy
Desperate review from SA there.

Yeah, seems as though it's crumbling badly already.
Root bowled, don't see that very often. It's weird seeing so many bats make 30s and then fail to push on nowadays... I can't tell if it's just a feature of the pitches being prepared at the moment, or if it's a sign of weak/ODI mentalities throughout world cricket.

He really is. County cricket is clearly just too easy for the lad. Just hope he doesn't go the way of Ramprakash, who also found county cricket a breeze
Well - for overs to go but we're not going to make 250
4 wickets down is acceptable I guess
