Zero chance of the leagues continuing into June. That is probably going to be when this virus peaks.
Season is finished. It will just be cancelled. No titles, no relegations, it is what it is.
May have to have play offs for European Places.
But I doubt next season will even start, so a very long time before we see anymore football in my opinion.

If Liverpool didn;t offically win the league, Leeds didn't go up, City have the ban upheld and UTD get CL ... You'd have to conclude god is a red

so this season forgotten, but you finished 6th the previous season so Arsenal would have that spare CL place made available by city being banned

If in the unlikely event the season was not concluded fully, then it should be judged on current positions at the time. This is by far the fairest and least contentious way of resolving it.👍

just have the little issue of teams with game in hand like villa who could if they won it, avoid relegation. and who their opponents will be if they were allowed to play the game in hand, what motivation would they have? so you'd probably have to have them play bournemouth, hopefully they would still have that half of a fixture to play in the last 9 games, not checked.
But yeah, clearly the common sense option if the season is cancelled.

so you'd just relegate villa cause they played a game less cause they reached the league cup final? bit harsh
There should be play offs for the title, European spots and relegation but with handicaps in place based on current positions. So because city are so far behind Liverpool they're only allowed to play a handicapped player so Sterling against Liverpool's full strength team. Wouldn't be much of a contest but it would be at least fair.

Easy saying we get but then Leeds and to will be throwing lawsuits around and rightly so. Games CAN be played, clubs only have to quarantine for a few weeks then stay in isolation for a month period to finish off games.
Speed up the fixture list by having 3 teams play against eachother at a time on a triangle pitch. Winner gets 3 points, 2nd gets 1 and last gets 0. It's the only realistic way forward.

there are several easy solutions to this depending on what happens.
For example:
If you get agreement by all bodies to suspend football for 3 months say.
that then enables players to go on the summer hols now. ok they can' jet off to bunga bunga but they can then enter a preseason training program and come back in july or august if needs be and blitz the thing.
thats quite simple.
You could cancel games in league cup next year or internationals and free time then to lessen the impact next season.
You could even find you could blitz the leagues in may and get the 8 or 9 matches played off quickly.
sadly the FA cup and european competitions will need to get cancelled probably and the biggest issue is the CL spot for the europa league winners.
There are answers to be hand but we need to be rationale and look at the situation logically at the time.
we know right now we wont play until 4th april v man city. LFC need to prepare for that game.
the issue for me is surety. you can prep as best you can then thats cancelled then prep again then see another delay. Surely a month off is best then put in a preseason and then play the thing off.

They should just do something less controversial like a one off final to decide Champions. Blacks v whites and both are allowed Asians on the bench but don't have to use them

If this thing does peak around June, as predicted, there’s no way the league is finished over the summer.
You don’t restart in the weeks directly after the peak, ffs.
The more sensible question seems to me to be, *if* the peak arrives in June, will next season be able start on time?
There’s all of the staff at the clubs, top to bottom, to consider.

I think they will use the three week delay to test every player and essentially quarantine their squads before they play the final two months of the season in the summer probably behind closed doors and to empty stadiums.
Might be one of the main entertainments used to pacify a population on lockdown during peak virus period.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems fairly obvious to me but I suspect the players will kick off and stop that happening.

I don’t see how you restart in three weeks when at such a point you still have staff across the clubs, officials, press members, etc. still full of the virus, as well as players at every club developing, dealing with and recovering from symptoms.
You can’t take elite professional sportspeople out of peak training for a month or six weeks and then ask them to play professional fixtures without rebuilding fitness and conditioning first.

Fair point but in extraordinary circumstances like this - who knows? At the end of the day it would be the same/equal for everyone.
My idea would be to replace pre-season fixtures/friendlies with the remaining games, especially if the EURO's are going to be postponed to 2021.
