Love how some will use a team a poster support to try and invalidate what they think MIGHT happen.

Atm no one knows anything and all is just pure speculation
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It is not speculation to suggest it is lunacy for a season to just be dismissed and to start a new one.

And err...to the more learned one on here, it is not normalising proceedings to doscount a season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet suggesting they should make next season a half season with a extra game abroad is a good idea

Levy will be seething at all the lost revenue from having a closed stadium.

--------------------------------------------------------

As we speak he's already looking into whether, in a worst case scenario, the new WHL can be rented out as some sort of temporary morgue.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf You’re probably pretty close to what he’s currently thinking

Well the old WHL was used as one so why not.

The Athletic saying the bosses think may is when it’ll start up again although isn’t that when it’s supposed to be at peak here?

The virus doesn't like hot temperatures. I thought it was predicted to drop off in the summer and may have a resurgence as we move into the winter months.
If that is the case then it could possibly mean finishing the league in the summer and postponing next season

Not sure how true that is as the virus has seemingly had no issue spreading in the Gulf or SE Asia

And also, if that is the hope then the UK needs to give up as it doesn't get any kind of prolonged spells of hot weather needed.

Stolen from elsewhere

I'm looking at the league table now trying to establish which teams would be in favour of nulling the season. No relegation, no champions, no CL places for those in it.

Us
Chelsea
City
Norwich
Villa
Bournemouth
Watford
West Ham
Brighton
Southampton
Newcastle
Burnley?
Palace?
Everton?

At most 14.

These teams are either in a stronger position, the same situation or couldn't care less if it was nulled.

What if the season ended as it is. Who would be in support?

Liverpool
Leicester
United? (dependent on 5th spot being in CL) their fans would be happy to see the title taken away from Pool.
Watford
West Ham
Brighton
Southampton
Newcastle
Everton?
Palace
Burnley? although they could still get Europa.

At most 11.

Same scenarios but who would be unsatisfied.

Nulled....

Liverpool
Leicester
Wolves
United
Sheff Utd

5 teams at most?

Finalised as it is...

Wolves
Sheff Utd
Spurs
Arsenal
Burnley
Bournemouth
Villa
Norwich

8 teams at most

If the PL had to choose in terms of legal possibilities then annuling may be the least damaging.

I'd laugh my ass if Liverpool were denied the title .
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It would be the most spursy thing ever, only not involving Spurs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not really, Spurs just feck things up for themselves. This is completely out of Liverpool’s hands.

Fail.

Most sensible way is to nullify all league results and start afresh in the new season. CL/Europa - restart the new season with those teams that qualified for 19/20. Simples.

"Quite a few of the clubs are resigned to thinking the season is over, there's a 75% chance this season will not be completed."

Err...I have read the same quote. It's the view of one exec.

Also worth pointing out there is a difference between ending a season and declaring it null and void like you want to.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it is that’s why my original comment had both

Also it was said by the FA chairman too

Scrap this season. No promotions/relegations.

When it's safe, start next season with each team beginning with their current points total instead of everyone on 0.

So Liverpool would still have 20+ point lead, the only difference they would have a full season in which to blow it rather than 9 games.... WBA, Leeds would start with the advantage that they currently have in the Championship etc... teams that have been struggling will start with that disadvantage.

Will lead to a weird points total for all teams for one season.

You know the FA has FA to do with the Premier League aside from yellow cards and fines for bad tweets?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well they are a shareholder holder too so if the Fa think something I’m sure it’s better to take it more seriously than some random guy in ja606 who thinks we should play a half season next year

Just wondering what he thinks he knows to come out with that. I that the PL had said the aim was to try and ensure this season got completed, and they didn’t put any percentages on it.
