Expecting Pogba to have heard of Souness is like expecting a 27 year old English lad to have heard of [*Google's obscure Bayern Munich midfielder from the side that won 3 European Cups on the bounce in the 70s*]
Let's face is, compared to some of the names he played with Souness is a complete no-namer.
.........................
This.
Dalglish and Rush would be the names people would remember. Hansen maybe and Emlyn before hi and the idiot goalie they had.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d be shocked if even a 27 year old wasn’t aware of the Bayern Captain that lifted the European Cup 3 times in the 70s.
Why create an article about it then? Dimwit.
...........................
Why not create an article about it. The BBC has as well, the author of that wasn't worked up either.
You really are the thickest of the dips. And that takes some beating with Mamba and Inbefore about.
I’d be shocked if even a 27 year old wasn’t aware of the Bayern Captain that lifted the European Cup 3 times in the 70s.
...........................
I very much doubt many could name him without the use of google.

I think it’s mad that there are football fans that would have to google Der Kaiser - Franz Franz Beckenbauer.
Casual fans perhaps - but not the average committed fan.

Many will have heard of him, but I suspect the overwhelming majority would have to Google it. I'd also point out that Beckenbauer is a true great and a star in that team. Aside from Gerd Muller, name one other player in that side...
I'd love to know what percentage of 70 year old's could place Zobel and Roth without Google... Won 2 on the bounce for Bayern, and I'd never heard of them until I just Googled that side.
I'd bet my mortgage that if you took a 27 year old French lad off the street and asked him to name Liverpool's CM in the 70s European Cup winning sides he wouldn't have a clue.

The thing is you're assuming Beckenbaur and Souness are on a par in renown, which is frankly quite ludicrous. That's like suggesting that in 30 years a kid who's heard of Ronaldo should also have heard of Michael Carrick.

Because he’s not just a player in a European Cup winning team. He was the captain and their leader and one of the greats of his era.
Same as Sounes.
Pogba played for Juve, but I reckon he'd struggle to name many of their 1985 EC winning team.
But 27 year old’s won’t be remembering anything, it’s decades before they were even born.
There will be plenty that don’t know Beckenbauer was the captain of the Bayern team that won three in a row. And this is a more world renowned player than Souness.
