You're a frequent visitor to this board Champers & you know full well plenty have called your fans a lot worse than 'dog botherer', so don't start playing the 'I'm offended' card now.
You tried to pass the comment off as a joke & its backfired in spectacular fashion.
I believe in giving people a second chance, everyone has life regrets & Bowyer is just one of many.
You call him all these names yet can't find any further evidence than 24 years ago, so maybe, just maybe he has accepted what he did & is trying to move on in life & become a better person.

I aren't offended in the slightest. I was replying to this from NJS:

If that's inflammatory then so is inferring I might partake in relations with canines. Of course I've heard worse and you'd be hard pressed to find the allowed words on here to offend me, as I aren't someone who let's sticks and stones bother them. However if I'm going to be labelled a hypocrite then surely I've a right to prove that any hypocrisy would appear to be prevalent on both sides, no?

As for your later points, I have no problem with that, and it would certainly appear he's matured emotionally. It's very natural for people's judgement on someone to be clouded by their past misdemeanours though, would you say that's fair enough?

My original comment was tongue-in-cheek and I'm sat here chuckling to myself that it's gone this far. That's only happened due to one poster working themselves into a lather over something that didn't really concern them. That person is neither you or I.

Odd place for an argument over a manager that has nothing to do with the article, but, at the same time, there are footballers/sports personal all over the world that have done worst, Bowyer did wrong but was made to pay for it, so, it should now be dropped!..

When Bowyer quit football he bought a carp lake in France as a business. He then got back into football when another lovable ex player Kewell invited him to help with coaching Watford's u21s. Maybe Bowyer has grown up who knows.

As for Barton afaik he is still awaiting trial for ABH against Daniel Stendel following a tunnel incident at Barnsley. Despite being a pseudo intellectual he appears not to have changed.
