I agree re the use of stadiums.
using a few approved ones will undermine integrity almost to the point of asking what's the point of finishing the league this way. And i presume it would be on the basis of giving no one an advantage, so if Anfield used, for example, LFC would not be allowed to play there. Would be very bizarre, added to by a lack of crowd & noise. Would have appeal of a pre season tournament.
It would be like
I have just read that the number of deaths in the UK has gone up today.
Maybe leave firm restart dates for a while. I love football but while hundreds of people are dying every day it just doesn't seem right.

They should finish the league but they really should wait longer. This just smacks of profit before anything else.

There was a significant drop today but Tuesdays are usually when they jump back up again so we will see tomorrow.
Really Firmino, on the front page of the online Guardian almost the first line is that they have gone up, no numbers though.
Somebodies got their wires crossed
If there are no fans in the stadium then surely it’s pretty irrelevant where the games are played?

In any event it's enough to wait a bit longer for the football imo.
Yeah. But that's still low even for a weekend compared to the last few weeks.
Perhaps they would hold matches in areas with sparse populations? Given there will presumably be no fans it would make to difference where the match is.

Also, using fewer stadiums means less people are involved so reducing the risk....
For me peopel need to recognise that there are lags in reporting and testing. The daily figures are not necessarily thats days results. They are what was reported on that day.
1000 test results might come in for example but only 200 might related to a day.
500 deaths might be reported but only 100 of them might relate to that day.
The reality is the government need to make the call.
I was listening to new zealand who had very few deaths and cases but their prime minister has everything off to a tee. In class 4 isolation, this and that need to be true to go back to class 3, this will open that will open.
Boris wanders about this morning and waffles, no detail not plan. you can tell a mile off.
M view of this process is simple. If people take adequate precautions that include social distancing, masks, gloves and temperature screening then there is no need for playing the testing game with these footballers.
After all have they not isolated for 6 weeks. are we really saying they can't be trusted
Each country will have its own entry and exist dates. Any business that is not planning how it will restart after this disaster is very foolish. Its quite reasonable to plan.
The key gatekeepers are those who hold the public trust. aka the government. sadly that means boris and his tribe of profit hungry sorts.
If the COUNTRY is out of lock down and restaurants are open say., clothes shops etc. why can grounds people not cut grass. why can't camera men do their jobs. why can't footballers kick a ball around to amuse grown men.
THe biggest single hazard to my mind in the is travel. the rest is controllable easily.
I still find people like rafael nadal hilarious in the insistence come what may that testing must be a prerequisite to sport restarting. A lot of loonies have crawled out from under the carpet during this time. I had no idea nova djokovic was an antivaxxer for example.
We have had several footballers follow this chain of thought but seemingly not realise the millions of workers up and down the country delivering boxes, working in shops have no tests and are just fine with the basic protections we have resorted to.
Once we come out of lock down (its still april) and we have training and in a months time perhaps games, its not big deal. If your local chippy is open and primark or topman or whatever you shop in is open and people are milling about this sense of unrealness will quickly disapate.
SOME of us will still be careful but IMO most won't.
the key is our gatekeeper (Boris johnson) doesn't open those up too soon.
football will begin behind close doors 1000% percent. we need to accept it. once it does the reason for it doing so is to make money. Which is the reason why shops and restaurants will open. If you can't make money without a crowd then you are stuffed and THAT'S WHY WE NEED THE FA TO RESCUE CLUBS.
league 1, league 2 and national league clubs are in trouble here.

Behind closed doors will be the norm for a long time, including next season.
Stadiums will be sterilised as much as possible.
There's planning to zone stadiums to reduce contact between people.
Some stadiums are more suited to distancing and spacing than others.
Basically, the logistics of using all 20 stadiums are insane. Makes sense to use specific ones.
As for the integrity argument, then even next season won't have any integrity if that's the rationale.
