I think end the league as it finished champions, promoted, relegated and start again when it is safe to and if that means behind closed door then so be it.
Any sensible person will happily admit that Liverpool are deserved champions this year and that’s that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that were the case I wouldn't relegate any teams in the pro leagues and just up the league numbers with the automatic places in each league going up.
There's no easy answer without completing the fixtures for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know it’s harsh on those relegated and fortunate for those that benefit but this is a one-off type event and I honesty think that is the fairest option that won’t disrupt football too much going forward.
Appreciate and agree that there is no easy answer but this is the case for everyone & everything not just football. Anyway that’s what I would do

Social distancing guidelines will continue a long time after lockdown. Probably into the New Year when an anti virus might become available.
Meanwhile if we play football it will be more than 2 meters apart. They will even have to make kissing, spitting, sweating and biting a criminal offence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
of course they will.
you just seem to think that english fans are filth and are willing to sacrifice football to your alter of anti liverpool sentiment.
Football is just another business that needs to restart at all levels to make money to survive, fans are fans. they will behave for the most part just as society has.... for the most part.

even though spurs are having an awful season, i am in favour of completing it. in fact, if they don't complete it i would probably lose some interest. whats the point in supporting a team in a league which just knocks a competition on the head half way through. unprecedented times but you have to find a way to complete it and put the integrity of your competition over money for ONCE
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have to consider the fact it will affect seasons to come.
Not just next season, and next summer, but there's a winter WC in 2022 and we aren't kicking off that season early, how are we handling that one?
"Just give Liverpool the trophy. It matters more to them than anything sensible"
These comments are not helpful. Liverpool are deserving champions and whilst I agree, just give them the title and end the season, of course they are desperate to win it, it's been 30 years. Most of their fans on this site haven't seen them lift a league title.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
disagree in just giving it to them. they haven't won it. the league should finish and let them finish the job. surely only a matter of time before they do win it but you cant just hand out trophies that have not been won. league loses just as much integrity doing that as cancelling the whole thing. and then presumably you don't relegate anyone... so you reward success but don't penalize lack of success.... no integrity in that outcome.
so how will football work with continuing social distancing rules.....

Yeah with the money involved you could be right. Wonder if the league has overriding powers to make such decisions, but then it would also be about TV money etc etc. Honestly when you start thinking about the ramifications of this (and this is just football!) it’s going to be a very complicated and painful world for quite some time.

We’ll never get mass testing in this country. We’ll never have it confirmed how badly the government fecked this all up.

How can you play football keeping 2 yards apart?
Have been consistent on here for months in my views that we need to finish the season. Glad the government are working together with the FA to get this season concluded. It’s not even about Spurs anymore, it’s about fairness and the integrity of getting a season concluded. Not only that, but it will be good for the mental health of everyone in the fact that football will resume. Glad it’s happening.
Do people really care about the integrity of the league? If it was about money I could at least understand that?

I think by September, if social distancing is adhered to, the NHS will have dealt with the worst of it and lockdown will only come into play should they struggle again.
A lot of my clients are opening against 11th of May, businesses need to start opening again or face closing.

I hope to fack you're right. Would be great to have fans in stadiums by September but that's looking a bit optimistic tbh.
