I posted on the Liverpool board weeks ago that I think you should be awarded the title, the full title no asterisk, and the league scrapped.

I honestly don't think we should be in what I think of as an unedifying rush to start, which is solely based money, except for Liverpool who want what's rightfully theirs.

We shouldn't be playing until it's safe for crowds to gather.

The only other option is to finish the season whenever it's completely safe to start.

I understand the government dilemma, they can't let all business collapse, but they can't seem to be overseeing hundreds of deaths every week.

They have to careful how to end the confinement, imo football should be in the same category as all spectator sports, theatres, cinemas etc.

I love football but I don't want anybody getting ill just to see a game
.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It isn't solely based on money though. That is the thing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If it was an amateur sport I t you would find a difference
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because amateur sports don't support many thousands of employees and other businesses and families depending on it. As I mentioned before, Spurs alone have 3,500 employees. That's one club. This isn't 1940. Football has become more vital.

What you perceive as a rush to resume is viewed differently by those running the show.

Ultimately its the government and its experts that will give the go ahead. All businesses are taking measures to return to normalcy and if the government approves it then you go back to work. If not then too bad. Simple. Football is no different to any other business in that respect.

Not exactly the same. Cinemas and sports are different because some sports can get by without people actually watching live. Sports can be watched on TV and money is earned through subscriptions, you can't watch Cinema on TV.
---------------------------------------------------
I'll cancel Netflix then.

It's desperate

yes you can. Just like you watch football on TV
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No you can't. I Don't think you know what cinema means in the context used here.

If we're going to terminate a season with a quarter of the games still to be played, should the referee blow for Full Time if a team's winning 6-0 after 70 minutes?

Depending on the reason that caused the match to be abandoned then yes. Its not the ref that decides though. They set up a panel afterwards to decide the fairest conclusion to the match.

I dare say sports can get by without live audiences, but who likes it. Also I does show it's for money. Yes cinimas are, à little, different, but overall I think we are better waiting until crowds can gather.

He could suspend it and then the rest of the match be played at a later date. Kind of like what the Premier League are planning to do.

Its not so much a matter of liking it as opposed to saving hundreds of clubs and all their employees and businesses surrounding grounds etc if possible and if health concerns allow it.

Because of covid, you are being asked to get by with reduced quality for a while and for a good cause too. Get behind the project

I'd rather get behind trying to keep the nation safe and using our resources to treat the sick.

In what way is it going to save hundreds of clubs? They will be showing a handful of PL teams. Clubs in the lower divisions will not be saved by it, or even some PL clubs.
They will have to find other ways of raising money.
It's not being done to rescue clubs, it's being done for Sky etc.
In general it's not being done for the fans, or the players.
Start when it's safe, get behind the project.

That's a fallacy IMO. Everyone is behind that effort and getting resources to the sick won't be stopped because football people are making plans to do with football, which is their job.

Since Klopp and John Henry don't work for the NHS, the best thing they can do to help is to help businesses and economies back on their feet to minimise damage to the economy.

excellent question.

I cannot see how behind closed doors games will enable clubs to survive in the lower leagues.
