I think end the league as it finished champions, promoted, relegated and start again when it is safe to and if that means behind closed door then so be it.

Any sensible person will happily admit that Liverpool are deserved champions this year and that’s that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If that were the case I wouldn't relegate any teams in the pro leagues and just up the league numbers with the automatic places in each league going up.

There's no easy answer without completing the fixtures for me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know it’s harsh on those relegated and fortunate for those that benefit but this is a one-off type event and I honesty think that is the fairest option that won’t disrupt football too much going forward.

Appreciate and agree that there is no easy answer but this is the case for everyone & everything not just football. Anyway that’s what I would do
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just think it would a legal minefield, only way is to complete it when safe
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah with the money involved you could be right. Wonder if the league has overriding powers to make such decisions, but then it would also be about TV money etc etc. Honestly when you start thinking about the ramifications of this (and this is just football!) it’s going to be a very complicated and painful world for quite some time.

Games shouldn’t go ahead as people will just gather outside them, this is stupid
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Surely they would be at home watching on TV live.

Crowds will not be allowed to form around stadiums.

I imagine the people who want the season unfinished at any cost and the people who actually go to football matches are 2 very different groups.

I attend PL football matches. I have 2 x season tickets.

I also think the season should end unfinished.

And I wouldn't attend any games in stadiums under the current situation if the season was restarted soon.

How many people on here even subscribe to BT and Sky Sports?

If football restarts now no facker will be able to go.

My mates a Villa season ticket holder and he would be more than happy for 19/20 to be null and voided.

2018 - 100 goals, 100 points

2019 - The Fourmidables

2020 - Incomplete season, only 28 games completed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nah. It'll be a 38 game season. CL probably wont get finished though. That'll mean com July we'll be:-

Champions of England
European Champions
Super European Champions
World Champions

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Desperate for the league to be finished yet more than happy for the cups to be cancelled. And they still don’t see it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hand on heart are chuffed with the last two? Apparently we won the last one twice, and I don't remember anything about it. Even your manager says no one cares.

posted on 28/4/20

The last 2 have the same status as the Community Shield which Liverpool fans refuse to recognise unless they win it.

What happens if we start in June behind closed doors, and halfway through a second wave starts?

It would be interesting to see what insurance underwriters have to say about players potentially breaking social distancing rules to play football.

This could happen at anytime though, we have to try and get back to normal as soon as its safe to.

Lets say we cancel this season and start again in August, we then have another outbreak in December worse than this one

Locked down for another 3-4 months, what then

do we cancel that league as well

posted on 28/4/20

My point is we don't know where we're going with this virus so we continue from where we are when it's safe.

If we have another wave of this virus we then re-access

The other issue is, what happens when somebody tests positive and played a game 3 days ago?

League is postponed for 2 weeks?

I posted on the Liverpool board weeks ago that I think you should be awarded the title, the full title no asterisk, and the league scrapped.

I honestly don't think we should be in what I think of as an unedifying rush to start, which is solely based money, except for Liverpool who want what's rightfully theirs.

We shouldn't be playing until it's safe for crowds to gather.

The only other option is to finish the season whenever it's completely safe to start.

I understand the government dilemma, they can't let all business collapse, but they can't seem to be overseeing hundreds of deaths every week.

They have to careful how to end the confinement, imo football should be in the same category as all spectator sports, theatres, cinemas etc.

I love football but I don't want anybody getting ill just to see a game

It isn't solely based on money though. That is the thing.

Valid concern but what happens to clubs and the football pyramid if no football is played maybe until next year? Your club will be fine but 90% of other clubs will not. Genuine question.

Not exactly the same. Cinemas and sports are different because some sports can get by without people actually watching live. Sports can be watched on TV and money is earned through subscriptions, you can't watch Cinema on TV.

How often do you think testing will be done? I'd imagine every 3-5 days.
++

you are sooooo far out of touch with reality it is laughable.

There is little or no testing available for frontline NHS workers, which is a national scandal. (Did you observe a minute silence for the dead ones this morning?) Yet you think that the public and the government will be ok that all PL footballers get tested every 3-5 days (because football has money) just to play enough football games to get Liverpool mathematically over the line?

There would be quite rightly, public outrage if this happened.
